An Affliliate of the Lyme Disease United Coalition A message to all members of Kansas Lyme Fighters, Inc. Dear Friends: I am sending out a list for volunteers. Perhaps, you could spend an hour or so doing one of these jobs OR ask your friends or family to join you, and come as a volunteer: PRE-RACE VOLUNTEERS: June 8, 2011, set up race packets at 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm at 209 Glenview Drive, Lawrence, KS (call with questions). June 10, 2011 from 4 to 7:30 PM June 11 from 10 am to Noon Late Registration at Garry Gribbles Running Sports 839 Mass Street. Need 4 volunteers with computers and the ability to handle stress and enter accurate information into the computer registration form. All late registrations will be registered on Active.com which is a cost of $3.25/registration. RACE DAY June 11th at the Lawrence Rotary Arboretum 2:00 pm-4:00pm Set up • refreshment tables in Clinton Complex Parking Lot • help Steve with setting up the finish line • children’s activities tables • tables in the arboretum • set out the race course signs along 3.16 miles • set up water tables along the race course • Put out signs along the race course 3.16 miles • Need 2 people at the turn around on the bike trail • Need 2 people at each water station (10) and to manage the water and table, clean up and bring to arboretum after the race. • Need 10 race marshalls to direct traffic, to point the runners the right direction along the race course • Put out signs along the road (K-10, Lawrence Trafficeway, Wakarusa) • Set up the Help Tent, Medical Tent, help Wheatstate Pizza, and the Woldorf school set up tables for children’s activities • Children’s activities (10) NEED drivers with Golf Carts or 4 wheelers to help move water, transport tables and supplies, and help transport people who can’t walk distances. • 2 trucks with drivers to transport tables and supplies 4:00 pm Refreshment tables for Runners in the Clinton Complex Parking Lot • 4 people to assist with refreshments • 4 people to clean up and move table to the arboretum 4:00-6:00 pm Registration Tables for Race at the Clinton Complex Parking Lot • 4 people at the table • 2 people to clean up and move table to arboretum • Traffic • Race Marshalls stationed along the race course 5:00-5:30 pm Start Line at the Clinton Complex Parking Lot • start line to direct people and help with line up 5:45-6:40 pm Finish Line at the Clinton Complex Parking Lot • Experienced people to help with the finish line (training available) • Help with clean up in Clinton Complex Parking Lot • Cheering crowd to stay this entire time, and people stationed along the race course to cheer on the runners!!!
