Shaklee has an excellent one; the quality of Res. varies widely, highly tested and potent, great integrity, and they answer a lot of questions and often have science-based studies on their products; this is a big one for themTo: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Sent: Tue, July 12, 2011 3:17:34 PMSubject: Resveratrol

For those of you that have used resveratrol, what brand/dose do you use? Heidi, I read that you used Paradise Herbs brand. How much do you think would be good to start and also what a max dose would be for a 30 lb child? Or to put it differently, what did you find was succesful for you?

Thanks,

Bethany

Resveratrol was the first real pathogen-killer we took. We got lots of die-off.

I can take it now with no die-off. So, if you are at the beginning of killing

pathogens, you might get some strong die-off. I think we started off with a

half a capsule. Over time, probably my littlest ones worked up to at least one

capsule twice a day. I took like 3 or 4 capsules twice a day. Red wine, even

grape juice is full of resveratrol, as well as chocolate. When I was very sick,

not knowing anything, I remember being puzzled about feeling better after

drinking red wine or grape juice. Later, I learned that I was full of

Bartonella which can be killed by Resveratrol. But, I don't think it's enough

to rid one completely of Bartonella. But, considering the initial strong

die-off, it must give it a good whammy. I think it's a good herb to start with,

since things like Samento and Houttuynia are much stronger and give much more

die-off. It is probably a good idea to start with the weaker herbs, then go up

the ladder to the stronger herbs since die-off is such a big problem. Have a

die-off plan in place. The die-off we experienced was sore feet and a worsening

of current symptoms, particularly OCD and anxiety. The die-off stage lasted

about a month. It was rough, but remember, it was our first real

anti-microbial. Before that, I just had gentle things like turmeric. The

reason I chose Paradise Herbs was due to the book, Healing Lyme. The author

recommends that brand. He's a respected herbalist in the Lyme community. Our

doc also recommends my kids take it, so some of the autism recovery docs use it

as well.

Yes, we probably have oxalates. There is just so much to do on this journey.

We are taking biotin, calcium and magnesium, so hopefully, it will help with

that. I wonder what percentage of those with autism have oxalate issues. I

have two family members that get kidney stones. Not when they take herbs, but

when they don't. But, just saying it runs in our family. I admit that I

haven't taken the time to learn how to do the Low Oxalate Diet yet.
