Well, I am finally losing instead of gaining! Last week my

doctor took me off Avandia (I had regained 10 lbs in six

weeks!) and put me back on Glucophage and still the

gliburide. She called me today with the results of my blood

tests and in three months I have gone from 11.5 to 8! Not

as good as some of you, but wonderful for me. I am still

walking on the treadmill two to three times a day for 10-12

minutes, but sometimes it has kicked up a flare of the

fibromyalgia and I have had to stop for a few days. I found

that if I started out slow for about 2-3 minutes, then went

considerably faster for at least 5-7 minutes and slowed down

for the last 2 minutes, I felt better and had less pain.

Also, I have had green salads with a couple of cherry

tomatoes, bell pepper, brocklie and shredded cabbage and a

piece of turkey pre-cooked bacon several times, but last

night I added about a quarter cup (loosely packed - not very

broken) of broken Dorito Nacho chips and wow! what a nice

treat. I used chunky mild salsa for 'dressing' and my bg's

were at 135 two hours later. My doctor told me to keep up

what ever I am doing. She thinks I will be below 6.5 in

either 3 or 6 months. Even though I am averaging low to

high 100's, this is a huge improvement and I am really

happy. I really think I can reach my goals.
