Guest guest
Band 41 is cross-reactive with other spirochetes, being specific to the flagella of all spirochetes. I would not put any emphasis at all on its’ absence. My mother had Lyme for over 50 years when she was finally tested. Only tested positive in the IgM blots, none in the IgG blots. I think when a Lyme infection is very chronic, the Ig has no chance to mature from IgM to IgG, so only IgG is present. It gets used up quickly in trying to fight the infection. This is only a semi-educated guess, though, so please do not take this as evidence from an expert. When I look at WB results, I look for any evidence of species-specific activity. If there is any activity on those bands, I consider the test positive. Of course, I am not legally qualified to diagnose or interpret test results, so consult with a LLMD. Hi- My dd6 has pandas. On a pandas board I frequent, many of the pandas children cross over to Lyme.We are on Azithromycin for pandas, and had 2 HD-IVIG's this past Spring, with some issues resolving in lasting improvement, but no, she is not healthy yet.Just got back the Labcorp Western Blot- Every single IgG was negative (including 41)and the only thing that showed on the IgM was p23, present. Now, I know this band is very specific only to Lyme.If she has Lyme, she has had it for a long time.Dr. has written if the only present band on a Western Blot was p23, he would consider that Lyme.Wondering what anyone here thinks? Not conclusive enough since none of the 41's showed up?I have ordered a Western Blog through Igenex, we will take that one and see what it says.My dd has been fairly sheltered, no pets, etc. but I do have a memory of a poppy seed tick when she was an infant.Thank you for any feedback.__________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 6297 (20110715) __________The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus.http://www.eset.com __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 6297 (20110715) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 6298 (20110715) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 6298 (20110715) __________The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus.http://www.eset.com
Guest guest
Lyme is just very difficult to test for. I have read gobs of postings by people who said they did not test positive for Lyme until they had Lyme treatments for months or years. It took a long time for their immune system to produce the antibodies to show up. I have never heard of anyone post not having a positive for band 41, so I wonder if she has a weakened immune system. Keep in mind that I have read reports that most people who test positive for Lyme have no memory of a tick bite or rash. It is also reportedly transferable in pregnancy. It is unclear of how many ways it is currently being obtained, but there are definitely a lot of possibilities since it has been found in many biting vectors, animals, urine, tear drops, etc. Since often people get a tick bite, but don't really have symptoms until months or years later, we just don't have the current ability to easily detect was is going on. But, definitely keep Lyme in mind, since many report dramatic improvements when they treat for tickborne infections. For us, Bartonella was our biggest problem, causing really bad OCD and anxiety. Lyme ticks can be very tiny. Love and prayers, Heidi N > > Hi- My dd6 has pandas. Guest guest
Heidi I agree. Bartonella is the bigger issue than lyme here too. Guest guest
Thank you for all the replies, I really do appreciate it. Yes, she certainly does have a weakened immune system. Mercury. We also just pulled viral panels. Bartonella does look like pandas. I have Amoxicillian SR here- wondering if I dose it before Igenex test, it might stir up to show more? Thanks agian. > > > > Hi- My dd6 has pandas.
