Guest guest
I received some very troubling news yesterday and Im hoping maybe some of you could tell you what you would do if you were in my shoes. My son, who has been receiving treatment for the last year (primarily herbals and supplements - DK protocols) had an ultrasound last week which is show calcifications including a calcified mass which the endocrinologist we were recently referred to has scheduled to be biopsied. He recently had a high TSH on a lab test -but when we followed up three weeks later his T3, T4 and TSH were all normal. The labs were run as his pediatrician noticed a goiter in his neck during his 12-yr check up last month. My son has been experiencing a few thyroid related symptoms - most notably fatigue (more than fatigue as he will fall asleep all of a sudden at various times of the day) and temperature fluctuations (suddenly gets hot) for a few mos. I orginally attributed to the need for more detox as we did the Dr K's 6-wk parasite protocol in Nov-Dec of last yr. Thinking back- I recall the symptoms starting right around the end of this treatment. He has more recently been doing Helmen drops for remaining parasites and just a few other supplements (C, D, K, mag, omegas, Quint, Lactoferrin, Liver Life, adrenal support drops). He was diagnosed w KPU last yr so he has been taking 2 Core supplements a day for the last yr. He also has been taking 1 drop of Tri Quench daily (for a few wks he was on 2 drops several mos ago.) Just recently our LLND reduced his dose to 1 drop only on weekend. Im wondering if anyone knows of a lyme literate Endocrinologist in N Calif and also if any of you have any suggestions on what steps to take outside of the biopsy. Im a wreck right now. His LLND is going out on maternity leave in a couple of wks and is probably not going to be available to discuss this w us. I have an integrative Dr as well who Im sure will help us through this but I know many of you might have some useful input as well. blessings and thanks, Recent Activity: New Members 2 Visit Your Group Switch to: Text-Only, Daily Digest • Unsubscribe • Terms of Use . Guest guest
Thanks so much for your insight, Heidi. The biospsy is scheduled for next Wed. I will definitely ask if they can test the tissue for lyme and co-infections, etc. I hope they will do it for me.I have been concerned about iodine deficiency he had tested as deficient as recently as last Oct., and that was 5 mos after we started tri-quench. Ive since read that calcification can also caused by too much iodine as well so Im even more concerned. The idea of Zyto is a good one- if anyone can send me the name of someone in the SF Bay Area I would appreciate it since we cant get to our LLND in Wash.I'm praying most definitely. I cant believe my son has to go through this after all he has been through. Your message gave me some comfort. thank you~take care,To: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Sent: Fri, July 22, 2011 10:31:23 AMSubject: Re: Thyroid calcification Since iodine deficiency is correlated to this type of thyroid problem, see if they will test for that. If they do a biopsy, see if you can convince them to test it for pathogens, like Lyme and Bartonella and whatever they are willing to do. I have read reports that these and other pathogens are the cause of such problems, but that usually docs just treat the symptoms. Toxins, like bromide and fluoride are a problem as well, and I think I remember reading that they decease the ability of the thyroid to absorb the small amount of iodine we do get via food. Since thyroid hormone can be easily supplemented, docs are quick to remove it. Get second and third opinions if you are not happy with whatever the docs are recommending. I wonder if a Zyto could give some helpful information. Thyroid problems are actually common, and easy to treat compared to problems in other organs. Of course, it's still scary. In times like these, I pray.
