Hi Krassi,I am sorry to tell you our experience w Panavir wasn't good, we didn't see any gains, on the contrary, my son lost a lot while on it and it has taken us weeks and weeks of patience and pain to get him kinda where he was before. Honestly, l also believe the MD assisting us might be very good in general, but has little experience with ASD kids. I had great hope this treatment would lead to something tangible...X0IsaEnviado desde mi oficina móvil BlackBerry® de TelcelSender: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Date: Mon, 16 May 2011 21:00:02 -0000To: <BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism >ReplyTo: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Subject: Re: Valtrex experience - Isa Isa,I also wanted earlier appointment, but I guess Dr. K's assistants are kind of overbooked with consultations after his conference and they accept sooner only emergency cases. Probably I didn't sound too urgent on the phone when I was asking for phone consult, because I didn't know if this is something that is emergency or normal die-off. By the way I meant to ask you – how your son is doing on Panavir, are you still on this anti-viral?Krassi>> Krassi,> I am sorry your child doesn't seem to be doing well on the treatment. I dont have much experience on valtrex besides what l posted here a couple of days ago. In your place, l wouldn't wait one more week to talk to his MD, try to reach her ASAP, this doesn't seem like something that can be postponed.> I wish he gets better soon...> Isa> > Enviado desde mi oficina móvil BlackBerry® de Telcel> > Valtrex experience> > Hello all,> I was wondering if those of you who have used Valtrex can give me some opinions of what might be happening with my son.> We started giving him Valtrex 250mg/3 times per day as per beginning of April this year (he also takes Diflucan twice per day). After a month on this dosage we were supposed to lower the dosage to 250mg only twice per day.> However, 3 weeks or so after starting Valtrex my son had a rash on his back (as big as coin and very red) and at the same time he started being more winy, sometimes he takes my hands and puts them on his head, which makes me think he has a headache (he is non-verbal, 5 years old, 37 pounds). So I thought that probably we started having die-off after 3 weeks on Valtrex and I was hoping that after week or 2 the die-off will be over and we will start seeing the gains that everybody is talking about. However, we are already 6 weeks into Valtrex (and little more than 3 weeks since supposedly the die-off started) and my son started getting again with more OCD (he is also on the Azithromycin 500mg once per week) and his eye contact is worse. Only few weeks ago he had this perfect eye contact, but now I have the feeling that when he looks at me he sees through me but not really me :(> So since I think we are going through die-off I haven't lowered the dosage to twice per day, but keep still 3 times per day, because I don't want this virus to replicate and not get rid of it completely. Am I right with that? I have my phone consult with our doctor next week and I am also wondering what she is going to say.> The problem is that I am getting only more and more confused why this die-off is still going on, because when I read on the yahoo boards most people say they had die-off only for 1-2 weeks. Is it possible to have die-off for 3 weeks and even more, or simply Valtrex is not the right anti-viral for my son?> Any advice would be greatly appreciated,> Krassi>
