Dear - aHospital released back to me. No psych ward that is age appropriate with openings. Back home. I will start AKG suppository tonight. Doc ordered 3 but will start with 1 dose tonight. We are looking at group home next week and psych evaluation. I hope the next few days will give breakthrough - maybe P5P AKG B12 will work. If you think it would be useful for them to see what was happening with his detox chemistry before all this recent business started, just let me know. I would recommend that they test his Phase II chemistry as they put him on additional meds. The lack of this sort of testing is a big hole in traditional psych medicine...especially if they are not aware of the literature on the impaired Phase II in autism. If they need any literature support for the B6 business, let me know. At least in the hospital they can order tests that you might not order if he was in your home.If they have done a standard blood panel, check to see the level of AST and ALT, and if they are low, show them the paper that shows when glycolic acid is high and AST and ALT are low, it means B6 depletion is ocurring that makes AST and ALT NOT WORK as indicators of liver toxicity.I'm so glad you got blood ammonia. As I mentioned below, it is wrong to assume urine ammonia correlates with blood ammonia.>> Here at ER they drew blood to check ammonia level and came back low normal 13. Only started P5P here at ER. They don't want to release him to me. Will be on 72 hour hold for psych meds. I am grieving right now. I have not even given the AKG yet. > Fransel>
