Guest guest
he SO Del products do not go well here. The yogurt has a strep strain that causes grief. I relate meltdowns to the milk. > > > Hi all, > > My son, 7 yo with Lyme, Babesia, Bartonella, mito, pdd-nos, etc, has been having a really rough time the last two nights. He had a great weekend camping, but got stung twice by the same bee. He's Gluten, Casein, Soy and Corn Free. We just started giving him So Delicious Coconut milk, which he's done fine on the yogurt, a tiny but of ice cream here and there and the plain coconut milk. As a treat, we bought him the chocolate this weekend. He has been crying at bedtime, unconsolably for 2 hours at a shot. He woke up at 3 to cry some more and again at 6. He will calm down for a movie, book, or music, but starts right back up when it stops. It doesn't seem as manic/anxious as his bartonella herxes, where he gets very hyper/impulsive and frantic, he's just incredibly sad, and can't say why. > > Any thoughts from all you smart mamas and papas out there? Have bee stings caused herxes in your little ones? Anyone have reactions to So Delicious Coconut milk? Any other thoughts? I gave him a 3 mg tablet of melatonin tonight, put on a cd of a children's book read-along to distract him, and he was out cold within 15 minutes. I don't know what to think or do. Has anyone had luck with melatonin? Any side effects I should be concerned about? > > Thank you very much, > > >
Guest guest
hello Kate,I can imagine being stung twice in a single day can be a very painful event, still not so painful that he would cry two days. I would indeed stop temporarily the coconut milk, for it seems to be triggering this anxious behavior. Coconut or rice milk can contain starches, in other words, fermentation or candida. Perhaps he has a headache?? or tummy pain?? see what happens when you stop it.on the other side, try supplementing him with a good agent to bind toxins, like modifilan or activated charcoal, preferably last thing before bedtime. You can give the melatonin without worries, it is a safe supplement and we use it either permanently or as needed. it has not created dependance. I take it, my husband does and so my 6 yo child. increase the probiotic intake and if you have, add some biotin in the mid-afternoon. have the child take plenty of water or natural herbal teas.hope this helps you a little.lsaDe: Kate H. Guest guest
Thank you for your thoughts . The yogurt has seemed okay, but the So Del chocolate coconut milk seems to be the culprit to me too. I'll look into the strep strain. He's in summer school, which is nut free, which makes it quite hard to figure out protein packed lunches and snacks without nuts. Thank you for the input! Guest guest
It does sound like he is worried about it happening again. Mellatonin and cod liver oil helped a lot here with anxiety. Bee venom actually does kill Lyme. I don't know how much of a herx it causes. The posts I have seen say they would intentionally get stung about 5 times a day, but it wasn't enough to rid them of their Lyme. I have seen a post that a lady with arthritis got stung by a swarm of bees. She had to go to the hospital, but was then cured of her arthritis. I agree with Isa's advice. The right probiotics can help. Chamomile might help. Coconut can cause herxing, so might increase anxiety at least initially. Coconut has effects against many pathogen types, including yeast. Coconut use to give me outrageous herxes, but now just small ones. I put castor oil on all our bug bites, and the pain goes away within minutes. He could actually still have pain since I have had wasp sting pain that lasted a few days. Guest guest
Hello Heidi, how is castor oil for animal bug bites and reactions which might proliferate? I think I remember about its being very toxic internally. Able to speak from experience on this; anyone? Thanks. Guest guest
Castor oil pulls toxins out of the body actually. I guess it pulls the stinging stuff out. I just know it works. My kids always ask for it when they get an ant bite. We use it for stinging nettles as well. Some people use it as castor oil packs on their abdomen to detox.
