Guest guest
Hello. Just curious as to how many people's cords became more symptomatic after cranio-cervical fusion/decompression. I have had cord symptoms for years, but over the past few months, my symptoms are magnified and my bladder issues are very quickly getting worse. Do you find that with these conditions, all of the things that need to be addressed get worse at the same time, or do you think that fusion makes the cord symptoms worse, if that is possible? Thanks, Pam
Guest guest
Hi Pam I'm confused - do these two surgeries even go hand-in-hand (untethering and cranio-cervical fusion/decompression)? This sounds like it's for Chiari (not sure though). Trying to figure out why an untethering and cranio surgery are being compared ... is this the surgery that the group of doctors in NY perform? I've been offered a fusion, but lumbar/thoracic and it's to alleviate the tension on the recurrent tethered cord - not anywhere near the neck/hindbrain.
