Ori Hofmekler (whoever he is) say's that two cups of high quality fresh coffee a day (one in the morning and one alter but no more) has been show to stimulate stem cells in the brain which helps to keep the brain healthy and young. I have two cups of first flush Darjeeling tea a day - in one session, which feels a bit like heaven for a while.

Coffee will powerfully protect your liver from alcohol damage if you find yourself doing more of this stuff than is wise. Decaffeienated coffee seems to be just as good.

In a study of more than 125,000 people, one cup of coffee per day cut the risk of alcoholic cirrhosis by 20 percent. Four cups per day reduced the risk by 80 percent. The coffee effect held true for women and men of various ethnic backgrounds.
