Guest guest
For me, when I started my journey to recover my children, and myself, for I was disabling ill as well, I sought out those who had regained their health and recovered their children, and the number one thing that stood out was treating for Lyme. Parents would post, " I started treating my children for Lyme and their autism symptoms started going away. " And since I had symptoms similar to MS, I was on some MS forums. I would keep seeing posts like this, " Good-bye folks, turns out that all these years that I thought I had MS, I have Lyme instead, so leaving to go to the Lyme forums instead. " These posts were the most common in relation to reducing autism symptoms and reducing symptoms seen as MS. So, it finally occurred to me that tickborne infections were my family's problem. That was years ago. Anyhow, since then, from my learning, I think that alot of the stimming we see in autism could really be Bartonella. Bartonella is very easy to get, and I think that since those with autism have suppressed immune systems, that the Bartonella lives in them, causing OCD behaviors and really, stimming, is so close to OCD, since it involves the need to repeat a behavior over and over, I am not sure they don't have the same cause. So, yes, Bartonella gets my vote at this time for being one of the main causes of symptoms in autism. Not saying it's the cause, just saying it causes a lot of the symptoms seen. I seen a report that the first person with autism, is actually still alive, and had joint pain as a child, for which he received treatment for. When he received that treatment for arthritis (which is often caused by Lyme), many of his autism symptoms left. As a matter of fact, some call him recovered because he travels the world, golfing, talks well, etc. In the book, The Age of Autism, Mercury, Medicine and a Man-made Epidemic, the first people with autism were tracked down. What came out was that Syphilis only wreaks havoc upon also toxic exposure, such as mercury. So, anyhow, since syphilis (considered very similar to Lyme), Lyme, Bartonella and I believe mycoplasmas are all pleomorphic, and they like to live in vectors, and infections like Lyme have been deemed to be associated with heavy metals, we need to realize that such types of infections can cause the stock-piling of toxins, and immune suppression and capillary swelling. Toxins, immune suppression, and capillary and vein swelling (especially through the neck) is being found in autism and MS. So, what we have here, is not only an alarming increase in autism, but also other neuro-immune disorders or auto-immune disorders or neuro-immune-endocrine disorders or just plain chronic conditions with no widely-accepted " cause nor cure. " Many different docs and scientists have their input, with different angles or pieces on how the situation has evolved. It is also thought that these types of pathogens become more virulent around electrosmog, so the continuing increase of wireless gadgetry and electrosmog in general, is thought to be a contributing factor to how and why these pathogens are taking out some, but not all at this point. But, what I am finding is that Lyme disease is not easily treated amongst those with immune suppression, and that many on the Lyme forums are spending years to regain " most of their health, " some even dying eventually. In the autism community, I am not seeing reports of children dying except from related issues, like wandering or epilepsy. Some children with autism, are recovering enough to do regular school on tickborne infections alone, but many are not. They also seem to need to rid toxins, and treatments to rebalance their immune system. I see lots of relapse reports on the forums for autism and for Lyme, but only if they get another vaccine or go off of all treatments and eat like others (gluten, MSG, GMO, etc.). Those that stay on supplements and avoid immune stressors, seem to not relapse. There is a video I saw on this Internet of " normal girl " who as a young adult got Lyme. She became so ill, that she stopped talking and pretty much just made odd noises and rolled around on the floor. After Lyme treatments, she became normal again. Just saying that it's often mentioned that Lyme effects speech and concentration, which is what is seen in autism. But, developing children get more of the developmental and psych symptoms. Just like getting worms to an adult is usually considered a nuisance, but worms in a developing child can cause severely low IQ, amongst other developmental symptoms. So, not sure of all the pieces, but what I do know is that the autism recovery docs focus on getting oxygen flow and nutrients to the brain and boosting the immune system and ridding toxins. They do this by treating for inflammation, correcting digestion, and various efforts of killing pathogens, and treating toxins. Googling key words together, " lyme autism " " lyme MS " " Lyme speech " and also searching such key words on the YouTube website will overwhelm you with all the information. Listening to the people describe their symptoms, findings, recoveries, etc. will likely give you a good education on what's really going on. You can also Google " naturopath Lyme " to find some top names. Many love to teach others and give lectures at Conferences. Feel free to ask more questions. Love and prayers, Heidi N I am interested in learning about the autism symptoms associated with Lyme disease.
