Anyone had side effects from Septra Elixir for Urinary Tract infection

Hi Everyone,Just visited Doctor with 5 year old ASD son for suspected Urinary Tract Infection. Not sure that it's a UTI, since lab since culture is negative, but DS has been holding onto his penis (similar to the pee pee dance), and sometimes it is very red at the tip. This seems to come and go. Prescribed Septra Elixir as antibiotic. It's a combination antibiotic which apparently contains a sulpha drug. Started looking up side effects and wasn't impressed. Anyone used this for their kiddo, and if so did you see any side effects?Any thoughts appreciated.
