Hi ;

Has anything changed in his routine/environment lately? Increased stress from

school starting? I know behaviours increase dramatically when my kids are

stressed...

When I suspect stress I do more joint compression paired with brushing, calming

essential oils, epsom salt baths and bach's flower remedies. Sometimes helps,

sometimes not.

Hopefully you will get some helpful suggestions.

is he verbal or non verbal? maybe his fingers hurt and that is a way to relieve

things or he doesnt know how to tell you they hurt, is it all the fingers or

just one or ? I have lyme and my finger joints have been killing me lately, I

have been having to pop 1,000 mg of ibuprophen lately.

He can talk but is very limited in his expressive language. Thank you both for

terrific suggestions. Kim, what essential oils would you suggest?

Thanks,

Hi ;

I use lavender oil to help calm. I massage it into her feet, and if she'll let

me, massage along the spine. I also use cedarwood sometimes. I put a few drops

in a bit of carrier oil... we use emu oil as she has sensitive skin.

Hiya,

I have Lyme and I have another couple of ideas.

Lyme can make your fingers (and other body parts) go numb. Sometimes they are

partially numb, so it feels as if you are wearing gloves. He may be experienting

with banging his fingers because he finds this sensation strange.

Two things that can make this worse are magesium deficiency or zinc deficiency,

so it may be worth getting his levels of these tested as they are so common in

Lymies.

I have had a test that actually measures how much you can feel in fingers and

toes. It doesn't hurt at all and they measure the nerve transmissions with a

machine so you don't need much patient collaboration.

If it is not this, and he just needs help with soothing and calming, you could

try a half half mix of lavender oil and peppermint oil. I put this under my chin

and it is not only calming, it actually works as a painkiller too.

Hi,

It was called an electromyogram.

They loop a piece of wire around the base and the tip of your fingers or toes

and pass a small electric current through it to see how much of the current

travels via your nerve. It feels " fizzy " (cannot think of any other way to

describe it!)

BTW If you do get this test done, I would consider getting his toes and maybe

even legs checked too. Whenever my hands go numb, the feet are always much

worse.
