Guest guest
Helena, I'm so sorry. How hard. I'm sorry you are alone in this. I've lost pets and had great sadness when my daughters have lost pets. I am sure Caesar has been very special. Just know at least one other human critter has heard you and is witness to the love you have for Caesar! Warm regards and kindness JT > My pet cockatiel Caesar is dying in my hands right now. I cannot reach anyone by phone. I've called everyone I know, left messages. No one has called me back. > > Caesar is precious to me. I rescued him about 12 years ago. > > There are times in life when nobody is there. I am using my time by trying to make his passing as comfortable as possible. Speaking softly, petting his neck, etc. But he never really got tamed so he does not like hands. He does seem to respond to my soft voice, however. > > I will do my best to make his transition as peaceful as it can be. > > This hurts. > > Helena -- T. T@... Guest guest
Ah....all of us who have loved our pets and have stayed with them to the end, doing the best we can for them----we are all with you, and share the pain, and the sweet, sad joy of loving a dear animal, and having to say good-bye. Guest guest
I want to thank everyone who reached out to me with compassion. It was truly a comfort to me. Caesar made it through the night but is hanging on by a thread. If he is not gone by tomorrow, I will take him to the vet to do the right thing - I don't want him to suffer any longer. He does not seem to be in pain (as far as I can tell) but is too weak to stand. His cage mate Isadora is hovering over him so sweetly. Thanks again to a caring group of people, Helena To: "ACT for the Public" <ACT_for_the_Public >Sent: Sunday, September 4, 2011 10:31:57 PMSubject: Re: No one there Ah....all of us who have loved our pets and have stayed with them to the end, doing the best we can for them----we are all with you, and share the pain, and the sweet, sad joy of loving a dear animal, and having to say good-bye.
