Guest guest
Lou, it's not that the topic is not ACT-related to anyone who values activism, it's just that activism is a very personal thing that is based on one's beliefs and viewpoints, often politically based, which are best not discussed on a forum like this, along with things like religion, which is also a personal value for some but not for all. Such discussions can stir up controversy since there is no universal agreement on religion and politics, or activist causes in general. That's not to say you can't share your beliefs here but to ask others what they think about your beliefs may be counter-productive. At least, that's my take on it. I can understand that some of you see this subject as being "off topic" to ACT but for me it is all linked because I value contributing to society. Activism was the first word I wrote in the domain of 'Citizenship' and I didn't hesitate, it was a natural response. If I fantasise about my life, I see myself as an anthropologist living in the jungle or on the Savannah with a population of isolated people. They teach me about their own economic distribution and hierarchy. My alternative is sociology, the movement of the people. I feel a deep connection to the global population and I believe that when like minded people speak in a single voice and under one banner, that seemingly impossible change can happen. The dissemination of ACT is a perfect example of the unification of like minds, global as it is.Lou :-)> > > >> > > > >> > > > > "....helicopters began throbbing and buzzing low in the skies as> > > > > they monitored the protesters down on Wall Street."> > > > >> > > > > I'm interested in what you all think of this movement.
