Guest guest
I posted earlier with questions on CT scans that a dentist was requesting for my son. I had been told by a myo-facial therapist that the iCat scan was less radiation than a medical scan, but this article seems to refute that. For those of you doing ALF or other orthodontic/orthopedic dental work, this article may be of interest. Guest guest
This reminds me of the scans they use for mammograms. They reportedly increase your risk of getting breast cancer. Thus, we use scans to detect early breast cancer that increase your odds of getting cancer. I will wait till I get symptoms before getting one of those, and hopefully, I won't ever need one. Thanks for the warning about these CT scanners in the dentist office. Heck, I can't say if we have had one or not. My kids have had x-rays at the dentist's office, but I never asked what kind of machine it was. They have those new machines called, digital x-rays that many are using in my area. They say they have 1/3 less radiation that an x-ray. I had a CT scan at a hospital, and woah, I didn't like it at all. My brain felt like it was in a vice grip and my eyes shook. Yikes. I found some complaints on this Internet about those machines leaving people magnetic afterwards. Anyhow, definitely keep being proactive with your family's health. Look into things and make a judicious decision. Sometimes the risk is appropriate, and of course, many times it's not. Love and prayers, Heidi N I posted earlier with questions on CT scans that a dentist was requesting for my son.
