Guest guest
Stay a member of our group, but also join the Yahoo Group, Lymestrategies, since they mainly focus on Salt-C. I have seen a lot of people post they tried Salt-C. After a while, they seemed to give up on it, even though most reported improvements. Some do it for years. I see people complain from side effects if they " ramp " up to quickly. I never did it because I couldn't risk using salt on my kids. So, I stuck with things for kids. As an adult, if I have too much salt, I will feel off, but I would not be able to know what was going on with my kids. (Just sharing why I didn't choose it.) Love and prayers, Heidi N > > Would someone who has tried the Salt-C treatment let me know how long you have to do this for before it helps and how long you can safely be on this treatment for? While I have found some info on it, I cannot find dosing guidelines for a child who is about 45 pounds. Thanks for any help. >
Guest guest
I tried this on myself and my son(at age 8) We both had the biggest herx ever.It scared me .I tried for a week.Never will try again. I used half an adult dose on my son. Tammy F. Guest guest
Yes the lyme strategies group is an excellent source of information for Salt/c http://groups.yahoo.com/group/lymestrategies/ www.lyme-resource.com You can lead a person to a fact, but you can't make them think! - > Re: Salt-C Question > > Stay a member of our group, but also join the Yahoo Group, > Lymestrategies, since they mainly focus on Salt-C. Guest guest
My wife did it for over a year. She felt it was extremely helpful for her. I have a free lyme resource CD that is available at my website below. Lots of information on what folks have done with salt/c and kids as well as making it palatable for them. www.lyme-resource.com You can lead a person to a fact, but you can't make them think! - > Salt-C Question > > Would someone who has tried the Salt-C treatment let me know > how long you have to do this for before it helps and how long > you can safely be on this treatment for? Guest guest
How much did you use to start with? My wife made the mistake of starting at full dose and it laid her out flat for a week from the herx. Later we learned about the ramp up method. She used it for over a year and feels it got her to 80+% of health! Guest guest
Do you recall what the dose is? Is it the same amount of C and salt? For a child would you half this? > > How much did you use to start with? My wife made the mistake of starting at > full dose and it laid her out flat for a week from the herx. Guest guest
The normal dose is 1/4 teaspoon and 1g vitamin c per 10 pounds of weight. But my wife stopped at 6 doses per day. Everyone is different of course. There is also a book about it now at Amazon and and nobles. Guest guest
Salt and C are both vital substances for the adrenal glands to work properly. The amount of cortisol they produce is directly proportional to the amount of C in the blood. High salt intake is essential for the available cortisol (nearly always low in long term lyme patients) to maintain adequate blood pressure and to balance sodium with potassium in the cells, essential to protect them from damage by free radicals etc. It's my belief this therapy works because of the adrenal support it gives. I suspect the salt C therapy helps those how do have adequate amounts of the other nutrients the adrenals need. I think those who do not benefit would need to add in the other adrenal nutrients. I used to get a lot of benefit from taking salt and C but after my latest relapse I need the other adrenal nutrients too, in particular super high doses of all the B vitamins. The best source of info on this is " Adrenal fatigue " by Dr. . VH > > > > > > > > How much did you use to start with? Guest guest
Hi ,I lost this e-mail for a while. So just getting back to responding to your message. Yes,I think I did probably half the dose, but seeing all the reactions that others have had,I probably would start with a spec and work up.I will try again. Thanks for everyones comments. It sure helps. Best Regards,Tammy F. How much did you use to start with? My wife made the mistake of starting at full dose and it laid her out flat for a week from the herx. While I have found some info on it, I cannot find dosing guidelines for a child who is about 45 pounds. Thanks for any help.
