Guest guest
I definitely want to try this. My Lyme doc said that Researched Nutritionals makes one which is extremely good. Guest guest
I have just been warned by someone on a different group that since colostrum contains some casein, it will interfere with Leucovorin and is not good for people with folate receptor disorder, which my son has. I have not confirmed this yet with his DAN, am still waiting to hear back and will post when I do. Is anyone else aware of this? I have been giving my son raw goats milk yogurt with no negative side effects but am now concerned I have been agitating his folate condition even more? > > > > Anyone here use colostrum? Guest guest
Our DAN just cautioned that all milk products contain antifolate antibodies that can increase this disorder and further inflame the brain. I really am not clear on this subject but thought I'd mention it. So much for the goats' milk yogurt! I am still thinking of trying colostrum, however, as it seems like the benefits may outweigh the risks on this point as it should contain such low amounts of casein. Can anyone recommend a type of colostrum that contains the least amount of casein? We used to give a liquid kind but from my recent readings the capsule form of it may be more beneficial for those who can swallow pills as it gets further into the GI reaping more benefits. > > > > > > Anyone here use colostrum? Guest guest
have you tried raw milk..from a good farmer that uses pasture fed cows or goat? I wonder if raw has the same antifolate antibdies.. > > > > > > > > Anyone here use colostrum? Tried this years ago but might try again. What are the best brands out there for this? Guest guest
There is some school of thought that cows that produce A2 proteins ( guernsey cows, sheep and goat) v A1 cows are better for you. Keena have you tried raw milk..from a good farmer that uses pasture fed cows or goat? I wonder if raw has the same antifolate antibdies.. > > > > > > > > Anyone here use colostrum? Guest guest
I've been giving my son raw goats milk yogurt from a good, local farmer for about 6 months now. I make the yogurt SCD style, cooking it at low temps in a dehydrator for 24+ hours. But our DAN says even that, with its trace casein, is going to agitate his condition. I saw no obvious negatives from it--my son was as hyper as ever on it so no changes there--but will stop to see if we can give the Leucovorin a fair chance. > > > > > > > > > > > > Anyone here use colostrum?
