Guest guest
hi Ann, where we are is fine, quite mild impact but people not that far south are much much worse off all the more so because of flooding and damage from a cyclone only a week previously. We have been SO lucky. Also where I live is on a hill, tucked in between to other small hills so it was almost a non-event here. Driving around a little to do my nebs and SmartVest while no power found the streets full of leaves and verbiage blown down. Councils' now busy doing clean-up. thx to all for you concern, hugs Joy

Guest guest
Hello all- glad to hear all fine Joy-- Yes we got hit a lot by floods- thankfully not inside- well just up steps and slight water damage in doorways- lucky not to carpet- in our doorways we have tiles. BUT everything inside- in my wardrobe even- has gone mouldy- my son came to help clean it a bit- but every day more mould appearing on walls etc. We tried shutting doors but nothing working- guess we will have to sit it out till the wets pass-- God what weather – we have several friends lots all- 2 in Melaney—3 in Brisbane- -- there is so much rain still to come- Lee hope you managing and all those in --- I have had lots more depression myself- but truly- from the 2nd day of Brisbane flood footage- I began getting phone calls- for help- suicidal people- people desperately depressed—have had to hospitalise 5 since first day. One chap was down in the F Valley Bris- he was homeless- rang and asked me for a room- luckily we were able to take him in- he was a past member of our MH respite group. Since we have housed 2 more- short term.—we have a vacant room- so have listed it to help victims out-- I complain because of the mould, and power out a day and several cuts- I just cannot imagine being one of those who have all that clean up—I would be totally wiped out emotionally and well couldn’t do it physically—we must really think of those who are in wheelchairs- have physical disabilities who don,t get assistance- one wonders how the heck they will manage- Joy I have a battery operated nebuliser—not as powerful as the powered one- but it’s a huge help when travelling—I got it years ago to use on Train travelling to Mt Isa etc. I thank goodness I didn’t sell or give away. Take care all We still have no milk on shelves and very little of anything-- AND when we do manage to find something- its 3 times the normal price.
