Guest guest
Hi , I did prior to surgery. Was having a very hard time standing up for long periods of time, like something didn't feel right. I have not experienced that sensation since surgery, however I do have a lot of muscular issues and they overshadow all other pain now. Subject: Pulling sensation in spine?? To: tetheredspinalcord Date: Friday, March 11, 2011, 11:56 AM  It is the issue of this really bad pulling sensation or pressure episodes down my spine, like it is hard to move, and I can't even describe it that I am having the most trouble with. Light exercise makes it worse, and now pretty frequent. And it starts higher than lumbar area, all the way to tailbone, even chest and intercostals spasms which make it difficult to breathe deep and at the same time having paresthesias in leg and foot. I assume it is the cord being stretched that I am feeling, but not sure. Anybody else experience this?
Guest guest
Thanks . I have it with standing also and almost everything now, definitely progressing. Did Dr. Frim say that feeling was your cord being pulled down? > > > Subject: Pulling sensation in spine?? > To: tetheredspinalcord > Date: Friday, March 11, 2011, 11:56 AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Â > > > > > > > > > > It is the issue of this really bad pulling sensation or pressure episodes down my spine, like it is hard to move, and I can't even describe it that I am having the most trouble with. Guest guest
Hi, I am Mom to a 21/2 year old, she had surgery at 5 months for tethered cord found on MRI after 2 Kidney and Blood infections. She started walking at 15 months, recently I have noticed her up on her toes more, she will not sit on hard chairs and does not sit with her legs straight out in front of her, We had an MRI last month that came back inconclusive, so Neurosurgeon wants urodynamics done. This week she started asking to be carried down stairs instead of walking. She does not talk, so it is very difficult for me to understand what she is feeling. She also hates being wiped during diaper change. The neurosurgeon says it is very unlikely she would retether with her type of fatty filum tether. Any input would be great !! Thanks, ________________________________ To: tetheredspinalcord Sent: Fri, March 11, 2011 1:29:59 PM Subject: Re: Pulling sensation in spine?? Guest guest
That is good to know, but bad as far as causing neurological decline, I thought it was. Yes, I have severe urgency problems confirmed by bad urodynamics, told bladder damage irreversible. I am so sorry for what you are going through. I'm not sure I could cope if I end up worse after surgery, so I put off making a decision. I hope the new pain clinic will help you. > > > > > > From: stvtm <stvtm@> > > > Subject: Pulling sensation in spine?? > > > To: tetheredspinalcord > > > Date: Friday, March 11, 2011, 11:56 AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >  > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > It is the issue of this really bad pulling sensation or pressure episodes down my spine, like it is hard to move, and I can't even describe it that I am having the most trouble with. Guest guest
Hi ,  Yes I have had this off and on for as long as I can remember. I've been to urgent care for shots in my lower back numerous times before my tether was found last year. You are not alone.
