Guest guest
Hi Jess, Lou and Simone and all,You guys might like to check out Russ 's The Confidence Gap. Russ basically says that whenever you step outside of your comfort zone you will have negative thoughts and uncomfortable feelings. You are human and millions of years of evolution has made you this way. And also it's not necessarily a bad thing to have these negative thoughts and uncomfortable feelings. Now sure yoga and exercise and other things may help with some of these symptoms but Russ is pretty adamant about this - step outside your comfort zone you will have negative thoughts and uncomfortable feelings. Cheers, Hi , Welcome back - may I suggest finding a good yoga teacher, or alternatively there is a book called The Revoutionary Trauma Release Process by Berceli. Guest guest
, I will certainly check this book out. To go ahead in spite how I feel --- It's what I need to learn. Simone: I did yoga and meditation for long, a few years, it certainly helps in some way, like reduce stress, be more mindful, aware.... however, I feel the effect is bit slow, maybe over long term. the change is little by little and hard to notice, do you also feel the same? but it do helps when I compare now and a few years ago... Guest guest
Hi , I love my yoga because it shifts my energy and unknots me - but I feel the real work is done in meditation. That is definitely a slow process, but cumulative - and has to be committed to daily. As i just mentioned to Bruce, it's better to do something than sit there stewing. For me it's yoga and walking the dog, and dancing - but it could be anything. Have fun experimenting with what shifts your energy! Guest guest
Jess,Yeah, get Russ's book. It's outstanding. He has many interesting things to say in it and in his typical fashion he says them is clear easy-to-understand ways. He mentions that some people use the words like " pumped, revved up, or amped or having an adrenaline rush " to describe the feeling that others will use fear or anxiety - page 44. In bold Russ says " Fear is not your enemy " Definitely check it out.I do yoga. I know it's more of a slow working long term benefit and that's great. Exercise is too, even though there are some more immediate benefits to a good hard workout - mood elevation, easier to focus on work or studies, etc. Yoga too maybe there is some immediate benefit of better concentration and focus. But I do these thing more for long term benefit. Russ's book, kindle edition, is only like $9 US on amazon.Wish you the best, Jess! , I will certainly check this book out.
