Guest guest
I need help deciding when the best time to give probiotics is. Currently we give " killers " twice a day, morning and night, with probiotics around lunchtime. But I've been thinking that nighttime for probiotics would be better. Can someone help me with this? Thanks, Bethany
Guest guest
In my experience (and I have lots!) the time is not so important, it's what you have them with. They must be at least 2 hours aways from any bacteria killers, so lumnchtime is fine. The main thing is to give them with foods that will help them form live colonies in the gut, which means fibre and fructose. So fresh fruit adn veg would be the ideal accompaniment. I have tummy upset from too much fruit, so I take a small amount and increase fibre with psyllium husk. Psyllium husk is fairly revolting to drink, so you may want to investigate alternative fibre supplements for your kids! I get fibre down my son by making it into cakes. > > I need help deciding when the best time to give probiotics is. Guest guest
Bethany, I think it depends what kind of probiotics you give to your child, because depending on what I have given him in the past I have had different instructions - some to give in the morning, some in the evening, some with food, some on empty stomach. Currently I am giving my son Customs probiotics D-Lactate free - in the morning on empty stomach before breakfast and in the evening right before he goes to bed he takes Ther-Biotic Gactor 4. These 2 probiotics tested very good with ART testing and I was given specifically instructions to be away from food. However, in the past we have used HMF probiotics, Living STreams, different kinds from Klaire Labs and Culturele which were recommended to give with food, so that's why I think there is not definite rule, but depends on which kind probiotic you are taking. Hope this helps, Krassi > > I need help deciding when the best time to give probiotics is. Currently we give " killers " twice a day, morning and night, with probiotics around lunchtime. Guest guest
Bethany, I think my previous post was little confusing about the probiotics - rule number one is that they should not be close to any yeast killers - antibiotics, Diflucan, Ketoconazole, etc... I just wanted to say with my previous post that depending on what kind of killers we are using and how often throu the day we had to make our schedule for the probiotics. But there are certain probiotics that is better to be used in the morning on empty stomach and in the evening right before bed, like I said before. Hope it didn't get too confusing Krassi > > > > I need help deciding when the best time to give probiotics is.
