Guest guest
If you don't know Murray he's the British #1 in tennis, but despite great promise is not the world #1 nor has he ever won one of the major tennis events (e.g. Wimbledon). So he gets it all the time from everyone - criticism, advice, etc. From a recent interview in the Mail online, Murray says this: " You really don't want to be [hearing], `You're doing great and it's going to happen if you keep working hard' because you're thinking, `Look, I am working hard, and it hasn't happened, so don't keep telling me that.' " Reminds me of what Russ wrote in " The Reality Slap " - sometimes " cheer up, things will be OK " responses may be kindly meant but come across as invalidating. Versus just acknowledging the other person's pain, or sharing your own emotions as they are, etc. Hmm, if I came across Andy Murray somewhere (a favorite fantasy of many a tennis fan), I think I would probably just say I like his tennis. Since I do. For ACT devotees who are also tennis devotees, the full interview can be found here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/tennis/article-2061541/Andy-Murray-interview-Ma\ rtin-.html - R
