Guest guest
Kim, Did you ever see any positives after the Hbot? I was few times on the edge to try also the hard chamber HBot and we even did a trial once, but I was told that if your child has Lyme and strep (my son has PANDAS) you have to go much deeper pressure - around 2.25 ATA and this pressure is too much for my son (he was crying even at 1.5 ATA because of the pressure in his ears), so that's why I decided to wait (They told me that if I try lower pressure than the 2.25 ATA my son may regress, because it is not enough to kill the Lyme and the bacteria). Did your daughter have Lyme and strep and if yes did you see any relief in symptoms after the 6 months period? Thanks for sharing, Krassi > > Hi Krassi - > > Thanks for the reply! > I will have to look into the micro silica - sounds like a winner. > > Wow, interesting about the Valkion. I'm glad you are seeing improvements possibly as a result of using the unit. I wish there was a sure-fire way of knowing which treatments are causing what results! Guest guest
No, I didn't see any positives that I could have attributed directly to the HBOT, just tons of regression and over 6 months to get her back to her already low functioning self... but I don't want to discourage anyone from using HBOT as it does help SO many of our kids. I haven't had her officially diagnosed for lyme, although she tested positive through some energy test (similar to zyto) - so I'm unsure. Lyme testing on myself has been inconclusive, although I have tested positive for bartonella... so I always assumed I probably have lyme if I am infected with a co-infector... and have probably passed the bugs onto my children. Her system is always a mess, and strep has been an issue in the past. I had tons of binders and probiotics on board during the course of HBOT so I know mop up wasn't the issue. Yes, I wasn't willing to go deeper than 1.75 either as she barely tolerated the ear pressure at that depth. Would have been interesting to see if the 2.25 ATA pressure worked for her. So do you think any type of oxygen treatment for her (i.e Valkion) would be aggravating, considering her reaction to the HBOT? Kim > > Kim, > Did you ever see any positives after the Hbot? Guest guest
Kim, I am not the best person to explain the difference between Valkion and Hbot, but from my knowledge the fact that you didn't see positives from HBot doesn't mean you will not see from Valkion. In fact the doctor who recommended to us Valkion said it is better to use it than the HBot (in our case). Here are the messages from this group that I have in my archives and which explain very well about Valkion and HBOT: May be start from this one: #2411 Benefit of VALKION compared to soft/hard chamber HBOT; #2710 HBOT/Valkion-Oxygen Therapy; #1930 (Valkion and Activated Air Research Info compiled), #1977 (Eng3 corp Active Aire device VS Valkion #2398), #2192, #2421, #2410, Hope this helps, Krassi > > > > Kim, > > Did you ever see any positives after the Hbot? Guest guest
we saw AMAZING things in all of us with PANDAS and lymne with a soft chamber and massive die off to boot! better then anything we have used in 8 years time of biomedical From: Krassi Sent: Thursday, January 05, 2012 3:38 PM To: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Subject: Re: HBOT - Kim Kim,Did you ever see any positives after the Hbot? Guest guest
We saw speech return after 60+ dives at 2.0 in a hard Seachrist chamber (no hood needed in 100% pure oxygen)combined with on-going IVIG. When we first tried HBOT we used the oher type of hard chamber where you need a hood which, for my son, was much less effective. He's tough and needs aggressive treatment. I would have liked to have tried higher pressures but the clinic would not go above 2.0, but apparently 2.0 in a Seachrist is comparable to higher pressures in the other hard chambers that require hoods. When first starting HBOT we did see some regression which could be attributed to clostridia die off. After about 100 dives at 2.0 he seems to have plateaued. Would like to continue if the funds were there for it. > > > > Hi Krassi - > > > > Thanks for the reply! > > I will have to look into the micro silica - sounds like a winner. > > > > Wow, interesting about the Valkion. Guest guest
Wow, that's fabulous! Thanks for the feedback Christel. > > we saw AMAZING things in all of us with PANDAS and lymne with a soft chamber > and massive die off to boot! better then anything we have used in 8 years time of biomedical > > >
Guest guest
Yes, we also did HBOT in a hard " hoodless " chamber. And funds were definitely an issue for us as well as I treated all 3 of my kids... Glad you had such great results and thanks for sharing > > We saw speech return after 60+ dives at 2.0 in a hard Seachrist chamber (no hood needed in 100% pure oxygen)combined with on-going IVIG. Guest guest
This is amazing to hear that your son's speech returned with HBOT! If you don't mind could you share how did you deal with the high pressure, did your son cry in the beginning? Did he get used to after 10-20 dives and he didn't mind going? How old is your son and could you tell me what supplements he was on while doing the HBOT? Thanks a lot for sharing! Guest guest
The first time my son tried HBOT was when he was 2.5. Did not see any improvements at 1.5-1.75--but of course he was at a different place then and we were not doing IVIG. I would give IVIG 75% of the credit with the return to speech. My son is not a great conversationalist, I hope I have not been misleading. He usually speaks in 4 word sentences. When he was 3 to 4 he started the 2.0 pressure in a (better I think) Seachrist chamber. He had been doing IVIG for about 6 months with no huge gains but coupled with HBOT it really seemed to help. I went in with him the first time but the chamber was so small he preferred to go on his own afterwards which was fine with me! He just hung out and wathced T.V. He never experienced trouble with the pressure changes, maybe this has something to do with his only having had one ear ache. He did take a bottle of water in the chamber with him which he would drink when I would remind him. It's very important to load them with antioxidants. I give him 1 tsp. of Aqua-E a day which is supposed to be a great antioxidant. I like it because it is a liquid and easily absorbed which is important because he continues to be such a gut kid. > > > > > > > > Hi Krassi - > > > > > > > > Thanks for the reply! > > > > I will have to look into the micro silica - sounds like a winner. > > > > > > > > Wow, interesting about the Valkion.
