I think the thought of having it done was actually worse than the test itself

:-). Best advice is to try to relax. Good luck!

It's not as bad as it sounds. I've had at least five done and although any time

you have a procedure or test done it's not fun or something you look forward to,

you do it, get over it and move on to the next issue. I never thought of it as

painful, just something I never would choose to do if I didn't need it

completed.

I have had multiple studies done. It was more uncomfortable than anything. The

more you can relax the easier it will go.

Kathy, Sue and ,

thank you for easing my mind a little. My mother had one of these about 20

years ago and she said it was the worst day of her life. I think they've changed

the procedure since then, however :)

thanks

sorry it was so bad :-(    keep flushing with fluids and try some tylenol or

motrin for the discomfort.

Do you know how the results turned out?

The urologist said that there wasn't really much instability, which I think he

said surprised him a little. He said there is a lot of pressure in my bladder

which makes me feel I have to void when there isn't much volume. I also void

more than I intake -- the lady that did the actual test noticed it too --and I

think the pressure may also be the reason for that, but I'm not sure?? I forgot

ask.

I feel like the pressure of the flow of my urine is making it hard for the

bleeding to stop, i seem to bleed more after voiding a larger amount, as though

it is perhaps putting too much stress on the irritated tissue or something.

ouch!

thank you for your empathetic words,

Margare

Hi,

How can you put out more than you take in? I've never heard of this, unless the

fluid is coming from somewhere else besides oral intake? Did they send your

urine for examination/tests?

Also - When he mentioned the pressure, did he say anything about reflux or the

possibility of it occurring due to the high pressure?

If you are still uncomfortable tomorrow, I would call your urologist's office

and ask for a script for bladder spasms and possibly something for the pain.

Heat may also help. I get spasms and they make me curl up into a ball when

extreme (although since I had the botox injections in the bladder in November, I

haven't had extreme spasms until the past two weeks). Heat really helps ... I

made baffled, rice microwavable heating bags a few years ago and they're a life

saver. Something about the weight and heat. I also have sand filled medical

heating pads that you put in hot water - these feel great too.

Hot showers and as someone else mentioned, plenty of fluids.

Hope you're feeling better.

Kathy

I think alot of it depends on who does it. The woman that done mine was very

careful, used smaller tubing because I am very small, and explained everything

she was doing. That made it easier thoughout the process. I didn't cramp or

bleed afterward, maybe you should call your doctor if it continues.
