Guest guest
Kim, Me and my son had the KPU testing done 1.5 years ago and we started taking the CORE supplements and each of us gradually – from 1 capsule per day had to go to the maximum dosage - 6 capsules per day! I weight 115 pounds and my son is 37 pounds, so I don't think the dosage is based on weight, but on severity since we were on the same dosage. Now both of us are on maintenance dosage - 2 capsules per day. My son has never been aggressive, but he had mood swings and some of the other KPU symptoms and now they are greatly reduced. With myself I noticed that I used to have hard time dealing in stressful situations (I was very easily to cry when my son was not feeling well for instance and always saw things worse then they are) and now I am dealing better, so I am very grateful I found out I had this problem and address it. However, I know it is very important to do the KPU treatment under doctor's advice, because you may see big detox reactions the first 2-3 months. We use lots of binders – BioPure Chlorella and MicroSilica, also bunch of other supplements to open the detox pathways. We take also the YES ultimate EFA's which go well with the KPU treatment protocol. Hope this helps, Krassi PS I forgot to mention that after 6 months or so of taking CORE we had to test my son for copper deficiency, because zinc depletes copper, so you need to monitor this as well. > > Hi All; > > I have just sent off for 2 KPU tests for my dd and myself. > > While I am waiting for the results, I have started my daughter on " KPU supps " as I am hoping this may be part of the cause of her severe aggression. > > She is so horribly horribly aggressive. I think the supps are bringing on some detox. So hard to know how much of each KPU supp to take, and I understand it might take a while to figure out proper dosage for your child? > > I noticed " The Core " supps by Biopure. Has anyone been taking them for a while? What dose do you start at for a child? I'm guessing dosage depends on weight and severity of symptoms? > > Thanks, > Kim >
Guest guest
Thanks so much for details Krassi. Do you mind my asking - how severely KPU did you/your son test? How did you determine you needed to go up in dosage with the Core? Sorry, I know I've asked you about micro silica before - I am struggling to remember. Do you use it with or away from other supps? Did you have to increase the EFAs gradually? Thanks! Guest guest
Kim, When you get the results from Health Diagnostics you will see the reference range and if you are above that then it shows how severe it is. It says for HPL the reference range is from 15-250, mine was 332 and the Kryptopyrrol anything below 15 is normal, but if above (we were around 20) you need to treat. My son is patient of Dr. K so he determined the dosage and told us to go all the way up to 6 capsules per day (he used also the ART testing to decide for how long he needs to stay on this dosage). The CORE has to be taken with food, otherwise you may experience nausea. About the MicroSilica - we were told to be taken away from all other supplements plus minus half an hour to an hour with plenty of water and some lemon juice (also without any food). About the EFA's - we didn't have to increase gradually because my son has been taking different kinds of EFA's for the past 3 years (before he had to take fish oil) so we just replaced with the new EFAs. Guest guest
Thanks again Krassi. I tried borage oil on my dd last night and she was horribly aggressive. I don't know if it was related or not because she usually is aggressive. We had been supplementing with lots of neuromins (omega 3, we have stopped) which I read can increase aggression in kids who are KPU. Yes, very helpful Kim > > Kim, > When you get the results from Health Diagnostics you will see the reference range and if you are above that then it shows how severe it is.
