sandy stools - what is this a symptom of?

What are sandy stools a symptom of? We're not seeing these now, but I was

struck with a very strong memory this week of my son having these right after he

was born. Brought a diaper to show the pediatrician, he wouldn't even look at

it, told me there was a lot of variation in newborn poop, blah blah blah. But I

knew something was wrong, then the seizures started at age 2...it goes on.
