Hi ,

Sounds like a refined tens unit, but not sure. However, one of the

contraindications is latex allergy. That alone leaves me and probably a lot of

others out of the chance of using it (plus anyone like me that has an

implantable device). Unfortunately, one of the negatives of multiple surgeries

on the spinal cord is latex allergy - mine started after my second untethering.

Even if a member hasn't experienced a latex allergy, if you have had

surgery/surgeries, please keep your latex exposure to a minimum. It's an

allergy similar to others, in that with increased exposure, you risk an allergic

reaction. My allergy started with burn marks where latex touched my skin. It's

since progressed but thankfully not to the point of anaphylactic shock and

hoping to keep it that way. Something to keep in the back of your mind ... it's

a sucky allergy to have and a high percentage of anaphylactic shock associated

with it.

Great link - I had never heard of this system.

Speaking of systems, has anyone used the one that contracts and supposedly

builds muscles in those that have or are atrophied/atrophying? I'm going to

discuss it with my neuro-rehab doctor next month for my left leg. I cannot flex

a muscle in that leg at all any more, it's still getting skinnier when compared

to the right leg and I'd love to be able to build muscle in this leg to maintain

function.

Calmare Therapy

Has anyone heard of this? I found it on the Cure Care forums for people who

are paralyzed.I found them initially because they had some info on TC. They are

a wealth of information!
