Joy don't over work yourself or push your body more than it wants to go. It seems we then end up quite sick and it takes a long time to get back on our feet. I hope the flood waters comes to an end real soon for you. Take care Joy L

Hi Joy,

I'm so sorry you are battling flood waters. Guess I hadn't heard you were being flooded by rainwater before this. My thoughts are with you, I've been through a couple "hundred year" (ha, ha) floods earlier in life, and empathize with the enormous cleanup. If your health is holding up, that says a lot about how much better you are now... the only positive I can think of! Good luck.

Kay

Re: Re: update- from Sandy to Lee and all

hi Sandy, sorry for not replying earlier - we've been inundated for 2 weeks now - straight after my return from a retreat... been an exhausting time 1st mopping with towels constantly, rinsing then trying to get them dry in such wet weather, then we bought a wet/dry vacuum which is so much quicker but 70 decibels, so even if one of us does it late night, during or early morning the other is woken anyway so have had little sleep... two room have had to vacate and pull everything out, 1st room removed carpet altogether. Stink was awful. Had sore throat at first but seems to have settled now.will be more online when this crazy time eases - hopefully the rain will, then we can relax a bit...joy

thx Joy -

but unfortunately water doesn't decide to stop running during the

night! I'm so lucky in the my housemate / carer took 98% care of all

this. I was still non-stop rinsing towels and trying to dry them in

wet weather... but now the rain has eased back & inundation has

eased to a trickle. A relief not to have the noisy vacuum every 2-3

hours!

I went for a swim this morning, was sunny, felt soooo good! Things

still a mess but more routine and one does kind of get to accepting

this is how it is for now... no point struggling! Pls pray NO MORE

heavy RAIN!!!

cheers,

joy h

thx Joy,

a lot of the stress has been due to the neglect of our landlady to do anything at all, now she's away til end of the month!  Hence living in smelly & difficult conditions unsupported.  Every time we talked & fully explained our situation she'd cry "What do you want me to do!" instead of finding our what her responsibilities are.  She seems to have the idea all she needs to do concerns the grounds & house, not our own situation in what became almost - was unlivable - conditions. My health is 'wobbly' - up and down, still exhausted, but slowly not so strung out ...  Have twice come close to hospital admission, but that would complicate things even more!  At least - thx to your prayers! - it has been sunny (but so hot!, still humid) so the water influx has stopped - such a relief.  It took a further 5-6 days to finish washing all the towels that had been used for mopping up... - and catch up on normal washing while the dry spell lasts.I'm so glad to have the nebs and SmartVest, being a real lifesaver.  You're so right Kay, the fact I've managed to stay at home & no IV abx I have to think is the SmartVest.... especially considering past 3 years I was in hospital twice before mid-year.how is everyone?  all quiet on the bronch front!joy

Joy, you are one intrepid lady. Your landlord sounds like a doozy, obviously doesn't want to do any more than necessary :(. But, not having to go to the hospital is great considering the damp hard-working situation you've been in!

Joy glad you are getting ahead of things and can get some rest. I can't imagine how awful it must of been for you. So glad you didn't end up in the hospital. Hopefully it will stay dry for awhile. Your landlord surly doesn't understand your health problems. She doesn't sound like a caring person. Good luck on staying healthy!!!--
