Guest guest
Yeah, giving up old habits is really a larger piece of the taking action deal. Taking new action, gently releasing an old way and/or leaning into something new is very frightening, and just accepting this truth is helpful for me..like mentioned earlier, as we lean into values, the mind screams. Actually every ounce of my body screams sometimes. I think it's like that old saying " Easy Does It " ...but do do it. That's sort of where I'm at today. Writing down a few baby steps to shoot for every day helps to keep me on track. Being with others involved in practice helps too. The values piece of this work is essential, breaking it down to tiny chunks. But values for me is not possible without a ton of acceptance and defusion and so forth. I hear a lot of shoulds and then story around shoulds (shoulding on the should) out there and in here. I don't hear too much about what do I truly care about, as in deeply, authentically..in fact, I hear a lot of running from this, even in groups designed to help others with problems. > > Taking action still gives me trouble. I understand without no action there is no growth. I could say I practice taking action and have taken baby steps rather then actually doing the entire event in one step. > I love for all of you to share your struggles or what worked for you. Perhaps, a video rather then a book. I read books a lot but that doesnt bring me to action. In fact, I have begun to read about necessary lossess. If I really want something I sometimes have to give up old habits or limit activities. > Lin >

Guest guest
Oh, meant to say that giving up old habits is one piece of larger taking action deal. I just took action this morning after writing this and it was really scary and really amazing, freeing. There is something very powerful in simply doing something on my behalf with all the doubts, with all the judgment, with all the " yeah, buts " , with all the observations " they're really fused and he said this and she said that...and therefore...it's not safe, I don't belong " . I think it has something to do with coming to see, with faith, that it's truly good enough for you and me, this place. Thanks for the topic. > > > > Taking action still gives me trouble. Guest guest
Thanks for sharing. I couldnt of said it better. It was great to hear someone else describe their fears. Thanks for reminding me how good it does feel when you do something you feared or procastinated about. > > > > > > Taking action still gives me trouble.
