Guest guest
Hello-I will look thru my resources regarding the aggression....but DO NOT tell that school RN what he is on. It is flat out none of her business! You can tell her to "watch out" for the symptoms he is having and to notify you of any changes or worsening; but I really think all you need to tell her is that he is under the care of a physician. If they start getting ahold of his personal health info........there's no telling what they will do. They will ask questions that you won't want to answer. In my experience, if it is even their opinion that what your doing is "questionable" or not "standard practice", it is their "duty" to inform authorities.I am an RN myself, and I have worked briefly in a school setting. She doesn't need to know ANYTHING about what you're doing!in MISent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerrySender: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Date: Fri, 24 Feb 2012 23:36:21 +0530 (IST)To: <Invalid address>ReplyTo: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Subject: Biting, pinching and scratching ... Guest guest
Only my opinion, but some of the lyme symptoms published include agitation and raging, so this could be simply a reaction to lyme flaring or lyme bugs being stirred up. We see this is our older son and it is worse now that he has started IV abx (hopefully a good sign that the bugs are getting kicked hard). So, that would be my guess. But, it could be from one of the other meds or from a combo of meds. This from Drugs.com on Paxil side effects: ....new or worsening mental or mood changes (eg, agitation, panic attacks, aggressiveness, impulsiveness, irritability, hostility... You could contact your doc and ask if he is concerned about these symptoms since Drugs.com says a doc should be consulted for these type symptoms. That would rule it in or out. Guest guest
I agree about not telling the nurse. I work in a doctors office and every so often I get requests from school asking for info. The parents of course have to ok us giving info but I discourage it. > > Hello- > > I will look thru my resources regarding the aggression....but DO NOT tell that school RN what he is on. Guest guest
Since my kids no longer take meds at school, I don't tell them anything. But, if they were on a prescription that would have a bad reaction to something the school might give, then I might tell. At my school, there is a lot of gossip and misunderstanding and they call social services for tiny little things, like being 10 minutes late to pick up your child. So, it's best to keep things private nowadays. There was a time in my childhood when parents were respected. That is not the current times. There is just too many judgmental, gossiping, and odd strong beliefs to be trustworthy. I have docs put everything in writing to tell the school when needed, and give them only ability to talk about the specific topic when they feel the need to verify the doc's letter is not a forgery, which they seem to feel the need to do alot. Like I said, there are lots of not nice people out there who like to make good things seem like bad things, so limit information to what is needed. There are many laws concerning the right to private health information, so don't let anyone make you feel that you have to say anything because you don't, not to anyone at anytime unless court ordered. But, of course, use your judgement to say what is necessary for your child's welfare. Love and prayers, Heidi N > > Hi, > My 4 yr son is on NIDS protocol with valtrex, nizorol, paxil and tenex. > Last week, he was ocassionally pinching us. Guest guest
My kid will do that when his sinuses are starting to be a mess. He's got everything else going on, is very happy camper, but the sinus issue is a tipper and it tends to flare with the weather and mold....so it can rain rain rain but when the wind kicks stuff up it can really cause him discomfort. Dry air in the frigid cold can also do it. lisa
