Guest guest
Great video! Thanks for sharing! The only problem with watching that video is it leaves you thinking: Why isn't this all over the news in AMERICA! Why isn't there a special on 20/20 or Dateline? It really makes you mad at our for profit health industry we have in America. Hopefully we can change that someday. Guest guest
Six years ago, I entered this journey. After about 9 months of research, I started finding that the most successful recovery results were from treating for Lyme. This sold me since my parents grew up in deer tick areas. I have since listened to the docs who specialize in treating Lyme in children, and unfortunately, it doesn't work like we would like. The antibiotics are harsh when given in pill form due to their effect on healthy intestinal microflora. Relapse rates are high, indicating that you really can't ever be confident in being cured, and many have to have other treatments for parasites and viruses and toxins to get well. But, I do believe that antibiotics are going to start being prescribed in the U.S. for autism in the near future by the infectious mainstream docs and developmental pediatricians. The problem is that because of the need for long-term antibiotics, it will be very important to still be aware of the effect on the intestinal microflora and liver. This is why alternative medicine is used. It can boost immunity without killing the microflora which is essential for life (digestion, nutrient absorption, and numerous bodily functions). Unfortunately, I feel that those with chronic fatigue, MS, ALS, Alzheimers, etc. who may have Lyme as a main contributor to their symptoms are not going to fair as well. I don't think they will get effective treatments by mainstream any time soon. It's just a feeling I have. Even so, I am extremely appreciative to Tammy Duncan for having the LIA foundation to spread the word, which has been a beacon of information to guide my family to health. We are still on treatments, but at least we can function in jobs and school. Before, we could not. Love and prayers, Heidi N Great video! Thanks for sharing! Guest guest
Heidi, I couldn't agree more with you. My older son(now 12) was diagnosed as severly autistic when he was 2 and is almost recovered thanks to all the alternative treatments I implemented with exemption of antibiotics but lots of herbs(which unfortunately rose his oxalate levels) homeopathy, diet, tones of probiotics and mainly organic food and supplements without the main nasties. He was given antibiotics when we first found out he had autism and saw some improvement but after reserching I refused to continue giving it to him as I new I would be destroying the little bit of good flora he had in his system and causing him more damage in the future. Now I am glad I did what I thought it was right for him as he wouldn't be where he is now. This group has been of great help to me as well as the low oxalate diet group . I am very greatfull to all of those people that have always taken the time to share their experiences and the treatments that were more successful on their kids. Guest guest
Hi Olga, you know I have told u before that you are an outstanding mommy!!! I also had the pleasure of meeting Heidi Her Husband and their kids are also very fortunate to have such outstanding parents. My respect goes out to you guys for bringing your kids forward so well!!! My son is 7 now and we keep working hard to help him. Sometimes one DOES get discouraged... Right? I do my amount of crying, praying I stand up and move again. He has improved little by little, but he is still TOO far from "regular". Olga, how did u realize/establish that your son needed to go on the LOD??? I am at a point where I am questioning myself whether to move into GAPS or LOD after 3 years on SCD w low nut content, at stages none, and having controlled his GI problems.... I feel unsure about what is the right way to go. Guest guest
Olga, Can you direct me to the low-oxilate group please? My son is now on sugar free which is GF CF but also sugar and anything that turns to sugar free AND low oxilate. It's grueling to find him foods so I need ideas. Also, which herbs raised his oxilate levels? Would that include samento, bandarol, Venus fly trap? That's some my son has been on. Thank you, Debbie -- [borreliaMultipleIn> fectionsAndAutism] Treating autism with abx in France> > > <

Guest guest
I am very concerned about our future. I have a feeling that autism will be better treated as a whole, but I am not optimistic about the world in general. Current trends are: much more illness today than in my childhood, fish advisories on mercury content just about everywhere that has tested the fish; more and more food is GMO; more and more pesticides are being used; as well as huge increases in electrosmog. I think we will continue to progress on the current path -- that we will have to take lots of measures to stay healthy, rather than take it for granted as we did since antibiotics were discovered. We will have to struggle more and more to gain and maintain our health. We also have had a huge increase in natural disasters and man-made threats of nuclear war. We must be realistic and admit to ourselves that every day is a blessing. Most mainstream docs tell me they do what they are trained to do and what the insurance company tells them they can do. They don't like doing new things. Currently, in my area, you can have all the antibiotics you want for ear infections and acne, but they were taught that tickborne infections only last a month or two, so that is all they give for them. From the forum posts, that appears to be similar everywhere. Unless mainstream goes herbal, homeopathic, and/or turns to other alternative methods, we have no choice but to use antibiotics. Land will eventually become too scarce to raise livestock in a manner that it won't need antibiotics to avoid infection. Learn all you can, and plant what you can. Those who can buy ranches and farms, would be smart to do so. Thank you for sharing your methods to reduce antibiotic side effects.
