Guest guest
Hi Kay, Sandy, Joan, Yes Kay - the past 3 years I've been in hospital at least once by this time of year, if not twice... Saw dr on Friday (have Candida infx in lungs) who wrote letter for me to go to ED for admission - specialist is away so couldn't arrange usual wait for a bed & book portacath access. I figured no rest if spend Fri night in ED with all the druggies and drunks. My dr accepted this with a caveat we see how I am on Monday. Have done extra time on SmartVest plus usual nebs, am determined NOT to go into hospital & feel like I can beat this. After another reasonable night sleep and sleep in, afternoon naps ... a swim this morning feeling sooo much better. House still a mess but not worrying about it. As Sandy commented, having seen so much worse floods south of us, then the earthquakes and sunami, it seems - what on earth are we worrying about, it's nothing! Tis a bit hard to keep away from dampness - the whole building is damp, a soggy carpet still in one room but we've shut the door on it, the stench was just too much. Finally getting enough sunny/dry weather to wash out the smelly 'mopping' towels, get them dry and bagged - still on hand just in case.... Have been checking out alternative accomm but still willing to negotiate with owner of this house if she is willing... we had to serve 'notice to remedy breach'. Apparently a lot of places in Cairns have had similar problem - not usual flooding but houses 'leaking' due to volume of water on a hillside dwelling (as we are) due to inadequate drainage and poorly built for wet climate in first place. thx all of you for your kind thoughts and prayers - joy h
