Excellent. The garlic is antimicrobial and the mullein helps to draw the excess fluid and reduces the swelling. You can even warm is slightly in warm water first which feels soothing. Typically you buy some herbal ear drops that have Garlic and Mullein and sometimes another herb or two in it. But yes, at the health food store.
