hi all,

my goodness after reading some of the difficulties others have had I

feel a bit embarrassed about my whinge! All our airlines seem to

have comparable luggage compartments and similar allowances, with

just a variation in excess weights, but all allow no excess fee for

medical gear - it's just the paperwork that can be confusing...

I'm not sure what a 'duffle' is... (in UK a duffle bag was gathered

around the top by a rope and slung over the shoulder). The SmartVest

comes in its own wheel-pull suitcase and another carrybag for the

hose and vest which can be carried as a shoulder bag or slid over the

pull-out handles of the main suitcase. The larger one which takes

the compressor fits in the overhead locker and the attendants put it

in for me (no way I can even reach them anyway!), and the other bag

fits under the seat so none of it was a problem that way.

The main hassles were at check-in - partly cos no-one knows of them

here, were unfamiliar, did I need to use it on board etc. Once that

all sorted staff were very helpful. The fall only happened because

the service attendant supposed to process us refused and I had to

then wriggle my gear through barricades etc.

I will be more appreciative of our airline services from now on!!

joy h
