I'm not so sure (READ: question in my own mind)......however, I have

wondered this myself. But if

that was the case (not saying it isn't, but leaving room open for

discussion), wouldn't there not be soo many repeated Detetherings? There

isn't really treatment for Arachnoiditis, is there? I've never really been

able to find

a good answer on what is the difference between the 2 or if they are really

one in the same.

<The operative term for scar tissue is arachnoiditis. That is what happens

even when the surgery goes right.

Isn't Arachnoiditis an inflammation of the arachnoid layer and not scar tissue?

Arachnoiditis is not the operative term for scar tissue. Arachnoiditis is

the inflammation of the arachnoid membrane (arachnoid- = arachnoid membrane;

-itis = inflammation). Adhesive arachnoiditis is when the spinal cord and/or

nerve roots become become stuck to the spinal cord and/or nerve roots. It is

different from the scar tissue caused by untethering surgery. There is no

cure.
