this info was given me by a nutrition speaker at our local respiratory support group:

          --------------------------Vic C : fruits, veges generally, specifially: citrus, berries, capsicum, kiwi fruit (or Chinese gooseberry), cabbage, tomatoes.Vit E : wheat-germ, sunflower seeds, sunflower oil, almonds safflower oil, hazelnuts.Antioxidants (inc vit A, betacarotene) : brighter coloured frt/veg - red, orange, yellow, green - eg: carrots, pumpkin, broccolik bok choy, spinach, silverbeet, bok choy, tomatoesTea - white or green, small amts red wine.antibacterial/anti-inflammatory:  garlic, ginger, onion (all onion family) (I'm sure there are more....)Selenium : wholegrains, mushrooms, seafood, tuna red snapper, lobster, shrimp, chicken, brown rice, egg yolks, cottage cheese, sunflower seeds, garlic, brazil nuts, lean lamb.Zinc : best source oysters, also in crab, beef, dark meat, turkey, beans.Omega 3 fats : flaxseeds, linseed, products inc these - cereals, breads. Also fatty fish eg mackerel, mullet, salmon, canned sardines, canned salmon, tuna, variety of nuts.Aim to incorporate nuts, seeds, seafood, good oils, wholegrains, eggs, variety coloured frt/veg regularly, green tea.             --------------------------------I would add many of the Asian spices, the more aromatic ones especially as good for lungs; tumeric & ginger very good for digestion (I use heaps after abx); cardamon & coriander seed; allspice etc.; aromatic herbs especially  I am aware that many people are not tolerant of certain foods and/or spices, so pls accept this is for general info to knock around - eg, those interested and who can still garden can maybe choose those that are in the above if can grow in their area.As someone mentioned Sandy from my part of the world has put out much great info on foods and herbs, spices
