I would definitely treat the parasites. To put it simply, they are nasty. We used Paragone for Kids for 8 months and saw wonderful improvements as the parasite burden went down. Paragone has ingredients that will also help with yeast, bacterial, and fungal issues so it deals with more than just the parasites. 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. 1 box should last you at least a couple months. As long as you have parasites in the gut you will continue to have yeast and bacterial issues. They excrete neurotoxins and definitely can affect the nervous system as well. My son was 4 when we started. It is important to make sure you are also supplementing with a good probiotic with a wide variety of strains to help repopulate the natural bacteria. Cat's claw is also very helpful in cleaning out the intestinal tract. If you decide to proceed, be prepared for a reaction at the beginning and keep the bowels moving. Lots of extra water too. We also use turmeric on a daily basis to support the liver and bile function. I didn't get good results with Bentonite nor psyllium. Word is that many are allergic to psyllium. I think that both Bentonite and psyllium are used with other products to get them to work as intended. We used the citrus pectin, not the apple. We never got a bad reaction from the citrus pectin. Keep in mind that brand is very important at times when selecting supplements. We have used Sachh. Boulardii, Kirkman's brand, with good results to help with clostridia and yeast. I tried another brand which did not work, so brand is definitely very important when it comes to probiotics. Oddly, Kirkman's other probiotics did not work for us. So, this makes brand not only important, but also the products in each brand. Parasites, are in the medical literature as causing developmental and mental retardation which makes treating them very important. I have seen lots of people treat for parasites with great results, but failing at ridding them totally. But, even reducing them, people are reporting great results. Anyhow, it appears that our kids are stock-piling them due to lack of nutrients and immune system imbalance. Lack of B vitamins, minerals like zinc, and stomach ailments are reportedly causing one to be a candidate for parasite infections. Thus, just saying that treating parasites is difficult and may take a strategy. Love and prayers, Heidi N I would like to start using a binder with my six year old daughter and am looking at either Bentonite or Psyllium, as I think these may be milder than some others. I am a bit nervous though as about a year and a half ago, my daughter suffered a regression with Apple Pectin. I am not quire sure what happened, but the pectin pulled something out of her gut which caused a massive yeast flare, and I mean massive. She was climbing furniture, lost continence, was running up and down the room and it took over a month for symptoms to abate. I was wondering if someone could tell me what might have happened - did the pectin pull metals or oxalate or disturb some kind of biofilm, releasing huge amounts of yeast? Should I even consider a binder or leave well enough alone, in case something similar to what happened with the pectin, occurs? My daughter has yeast clostridia, proteus, parasites, peudomonas. Thanks Elena

I am imagining using a half tsp. before bed.Is this how you dose it

Caryn? Thanks,Tammy F.

We use DE and I would recommend just adding on top of

everything else. It is a slow and steady winner to hit

bugs from another angle.

I think paragone has a good reputation and it seems to be really mild but effective. You can start at half or even lower dose and work your way up. I think it's recommended that kids stay on half dose. I also use oreganol and I think it's really broad sprectrum and effective against yeast and it's suppose to be a really good anti-viral. However, I would not substitute either of these for a binder or detoxifier. I use 3 different detoxifiers and cholestyromine is an incredible binder that sweeps up the toxins. You start VERY SMALL and SLOWLY go up but I would not want to do any cleansing (paragone) or killing (oreganol) without both binders and detoxifiers. I used modified citrus pectin a while back but it did not help us very much. I didn't see any signs that it did very much for my son's toxic load. But with cholestyromine it literally stopped phychotic episodes. I can see a calming effect within 12-15 minutes of taking it. You do need a perscription. Some say the mod citrus pectin is great for them though and everyone is different. Probiotics are very necessary but I don't think they are enough if you have any significant yeast problems which is why we do the oreganol.
