Guest guest
My backache started as a burning feeling going across my back. that lasted for about a day then I had horrible pain across my entire lower to mid back. It was acute for about a week or so then intermittent then subsided over a few months. By then I had started to notice that my legs were getting weak Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry Backache Symptom To those of you who have had a Backache as a symptom (I never had in the past)........what is it like? Strangely enough, I feel that this is what I am feeling, even though I don't know, because of past experience didn't experience this. Thanks. Brande mymocha@... Guest guest
My back throbs all the time and it is in the lower part of my back. My left leg and foot is always numb. My back pain is always there unless I take pain meds, and my left leg becomes really weak after I walk for any length of time. I have had two surgeries for TCS. Guest guest
Well I did have a lot of the burning, for me that was a symptom of not walking correctly, sleeping on my tummy (because of back pain). Getting stressed and tensing my muscles. I was diagnosed with " central Sensitization " . I started Savella and an intensive Physical Therapy program (3x week) and am better in the upper/mid back department. My LOWER back feels like a toothache. Almost like you need a root canal. It's raw, sharp... that's how it has always been 24/7 for the last 3 years. It did not change with the surgery. Physical therapy or an evaluation at least may help determine what your new symptoms are. Guest guest
, Did any of your pains get worse with surgery? Also did you do the flip flop MRI prior to surgery or any other tests that definitely told you it was TC causing your symptoms? Guest guest
, could you please tell me more about a flip / flop MRI. The last MRI that I had stated that I had a possible tethered cord, however my neurosurgeon told me it was impossible for me to re tether. I hate to doubt what he is saying but my pain and leg/foot weakness tell me he may be wrong. Sent from my iPhone > , > > Did any of your pains get worse with surgery? Guest guest
I just had my second surgery to untether and my doctor told me there was always the chance it could retether again. I continue to have back pain, my leg and foot are numb and weak also. I am due for another MRI in July to assure it has not retethered. The possibility is always there, just something that people who have TCS have to live with and hope for the best. I wish you best of luck but I think I would get a second opinion if I were you. Guest guest
A few months before surgery I started getting upper and mid back pain. Then after surgery same thing, it also started burning really badly. I went to massage and tried to get the knots out etc, but nothing seemed to help. My arms started going numb then. The lower back pain stayed the same, it was like that for 2 1/2 years prior to diagnosis. It was determined the upper/mid issue was from sitting/walking funny, and stress. I have knots and tender points all over the place. Although the numbness in my arms is gone now. Yes, I had 2 MRI's prior to surgery. 1 diagnosing, and then another confirming it again. Dr. Frim said that the lower back pain is unlikely to go away. The upper back and mid are better now, the lower is no change, even though we have been paying the same amount of attention to the whole back. Guest guest
, Why does he think the low back pain will never go away? What does he think its due to? Was it the flip flop MRI before surgery that confirmed diagnosis? So sorry to hear about your work. > > > > > > From: patricia fischer <patriciafischer@> > > > Subject: RE: Backache Symptom > > > To: tetheredspinalcord > > > Date: Wednesday, May 18, 2011, 5:29 PM > > > > > > > > > My back throbs all the time and it is in the lower part of my back.
