I get a shot once per month. My doc believes this will help slow down my nerve

deterioration, I feel better too! I also take B12 vitamins daily!

Has anyone had these? I met someone a few days ago who swears by them for

pain and well being...

I've had Vit-B-12 injections in the past, especially when I was having severe

neuropathy pain issues, and they did help. Thing is it's not an overnight kind

of " relief " it's something that has to accumulate in your system -- so it may

take a couple of doses to make a difference. But, I like the knowing it comes

from nature -- and isn't just another pharmaceutical drug. :)

Mike, who does them for you? And has there been a clear test showing you have

a deficiency?

There is a test that shows a marked deficiency, a simple blood test your MD can

do. However, according to my naturopath even if you don't test deficient with

this test, extra B12 can still help some people tremendously -- with energy,

nerve healing, etc. It can be poorly absorbed so taking injections is a sure

way to know you are absorbing this nutrient, as opposed to taking an oral

supplement. I have been thinking about switching over to the injections due to

my TC and nerve damage, have been taking a sublingual form for years. Some

people can be anemic due to the inability to absorb B12 and they will clearly

show a deficiency with the blood test and must take injections. B12 is very

important for many things, nerves being one of the things it has a positive

effect on. If you are a vegetarian you are at risk of being deficient as well.

Dee,

Actually I have been doing the vegan thing for about 4 months now. I did get an

order to retest for a whole bunch of things. Last time I had the testing done I

just had high white blood cells, which I always have for some reason, otherwise

everything fine.

This woman told me the same thing, get the injections either way... I will call

them tomorrow and set something up.

Yes I had tested very low for B12. My local nurse practitioner gives me the

shot. I live in a very rural community so we rely a lot on Nurses.
