Guest guest
The last time I was in the hospital I was given some very strong medicines. A few weeks after getting home I noticed I was having extreme pain in my hands, wrists and elbows. The Doctors feel the medicine advanced rheumatoid arthritis they had to be very careful what medicine they put me on because of the lungs. Some days I suffer a lot with it. Does anyone else on this site have rheumatoid arthritis??? I need to check more on the Internet about it to see what I can do to help myself if anything???? I am on Plaquenil 200mg twice a day for now. This medicine works on the eyes so I have to keep close watch on them. The eyes get so dry they feel like sand inside of them. I am not sure this has anything to do with bronchiectasis as I haven't checked into it yet. I was just curious if anyone else has it???? I did buy a sinus pulse irrigation system which I have just got started on it and sure hope it helps the sinus infection. I can't seem to ever get it cleared up. The Doctor feels sometimes this causes more problems with the lungs. Will done with my nebulizer so better go do my rinse. Take care everyone. Joy L Wit Subject: Re: bleedsTo: bronchiectasis Date: Friday, May 6, 2011, 4:26 PM I agree that heparin might cause easy bleeding, but your doctors might have an idea of what causes this, too. Let us know what they say. And for Peet's sake, get to bed! Kay bleeds hi Kaylots coughing can cause small breaks in lung blood vessels apparently, I think I've had slow bleed for quite long time, but tomato soup bleed for 2+ hrs then some more wasn't so easy to be relaxed about. They did stop of own accordI've noticed lots little sores all over me since. Part of Portacath (also PICC) is salne flush / heparin (prevent clotting) are part of keeping the line 'patent'. Maybe my blood is a bit thin anyway, so wit heparin tend to bleed easily?did scare me, only time that amt blood had pneumonia, didn't fancy a repeat.is getting daylight, I must have some sleep!hugs, joy
Guest guest
My mother took Plaquenil for Lupus. It's an anti-malerial drug that is also give for RA. Yes, one must watch the eyes very carefully as it can cause problems with the retina and cornea. My mother also had dry eye and just used drops for it - now they would most likely give her cyclosporine drops (Restasis). Have you been checked for Lupus? It can effect the lungs.
