Guest guest
Hi All, I am going through menapause as well as the post-op pain and numbness from my detether earlier this year. Sometimes it is hard for me to explain what I'm going through to my family. I get flustered very easily and can't remember the words to express myself. I think my husband and other family members are losing patience with me and think I'm lazy. My husband's mother and sister keep saying that I just need to excersize. I think my Husband is starting to feel the same way. I lost my job in July and I'm doing battle with the state to get unemployment. I have a lot of anxiety and depression due to my situation. I know I can't be the only one going through this. Does anyone have any advise?
Guest guest
Kellie  I am sorry that you are going through this double hit with the added menapause, and I know that people who don't understand an illness or the recovery process say whatever comes to mind. Most of the time it is the wrong thing to say and can be very hurtful. I know its hard recovering as I have had 2 detethering procedures already. I can only suggest maybe having your husband go to the doctor with you, or maybe follow up with some reading. His family should not be involving themselves in your relationship in such a way to cause any problems while so much is already going on. I wish you the best and remember you deserve understanding and compassion. Please try to communicate how you feel to your husband and I hope all goes well. ________________________________ To: tetheredspinalcord Sent: Monday, October 3, 2011 11:47 AM Subject: Pain and Famile Woes  Hi All,  I am going through menapause as well as the post-op pain and numbness from my detether earlier this year.
