Guest guest
I'm sure this is not what you want to hear but these items I will list have helped me tremendously in ALL aspects of TSC: * Eliminate refined and artificial sugar - no soda, diet or otherwise! Use Stevia for sweetener * Eliminate all products with gluten, even if you do not have Celiac disease or known gluten sensitivity, thousands of people are gluten sensitive and do not know it * Eliminate all processed foods, they contain artificial flavoring, preservatives, colors and other bad stuff * Eliminate dairy products - they now contain antibiotics, growth hormones, preservatives, etc. If you can find it use raw milk and butter * Use organic cold pressed coconut oil for cooking and cold pressed olive oil for other purposes * I eat lot's of meat, fruit & vegetables, and snack on raw walnuts, raw pecans, raw unsalted sunflower seeds & almonds * Buy a juicer and use it * Buy organic when possible, look for grass fed local beef * Take a quality multivitamin 2 times a day * Take 25 mg gel type D3 per pound of body weight twice a day * Take a quality multi-bacterial probiotic twice a day * Take 500 mg DHA in fish oil in the morning * Take 400 mg EPA in fish oil in the evening * Take 5 mg (5,000 mcg) Methyl B-12 (the ones that you dissolve under your tongue) for energy & nerves * If you are over weight, following the above recommendations, you will lose it naturally * Buy, install and use your own drinking water purifier and drink 1 to 2 liters a day, or more. * Subscribe and read the articles from http://www.mercola.com/ and http://www.naturalnews.com/ * Stay busy, do not sit or lay around all day I started doing this in February, lost nearly 50 pounds (5 or 6 to go) and it is just amazing how much better I feel both physically and mentally. It hurts very little to walk now and I more than tripled the distance and time I can walk. If I had balance I could walk with out my walker. I am off all my meds except Ditropan and Klonopin if I over do it and get night time leg spasms Remember, this is NOT advise, this is what I do that helps me. Guest guest
Thank you Rick. I do all of those things now... I get my vitamins from Lessman, he is awesome. Also I am vegan/vegetarian.ĆĀ Also I'm 5'9 and 138lbs, so I am not overweight.I have all these knots all over my legs on top of the damage done by the TC (burning, electrical pain). I'm very happy all of that helped you and you are feeling much better, I wish these things would work on me.ĆĀ My legs just hurt like hell, in fact it was so bad yesterday I was not able to work, just sitting in my cube trying to breathe, my dose of OxyContin was upped by 10Mg x3 day yesterday because of the pain. It was a 7 scale and has been 6-8 the last 10 days. I also do wet heat and ultrasound.. but no dice. Anything else you can think of? > > >> So my legs have been killing me and I'm finding it hard to walk.Any ideas on what I could use to help me walk? Guest guest
, Narcotics are not known for being very successful treating neuropathy. U might want to talk to ur MD about adding a Rx to treat the neuropathy. There are so many different ones. Just trial and error to find the one that best controls the pain with the fewest side effects. Also the knots sound more like fibro than TC. Maybe ur MD can c if it is fibro and use a Rx for that. Guest guest
After my spinal fusion my legs felt like they had crazy knots/tight muscles in them but when I saw my massage therapist that wasn't the case -- it was all due to post surgery nerve pain manifesting in that sensation -- had me fooled. My legs would scream with pain as soon as I stood up. Lucky for me that disappeared. So, as Jenn said, if it's neuropathy then a different med might be the answer. Proper diagnosis will obviously help you find proper treatment. If it is truly your muscles spasming, have you tried high does of magnesium (needs to be good quality, well absorbable). Consulting a naturopath or integrative medicine specialist could help you with trying some natural remedies if you are interested in trying that route. Like Rick, I take a wide range of nutritional supplements which help me. One supplement which helps with inflammation as well that I don't think Rick mentioned is curcumin -- but it has to be a good quality supplement as curcumin is difficult to absorb. My integrative medicine specialist is just starting to use intravenous curcumin in his practice --- interestingly, I heard one lady in the clinic with severe arthritis is down 1/2 her meds after just two treatments, one week apart. Guest guest
If it is spasticity, then a muscle Rx for that (baclofen is most common) may help. I have to wonder if some 'real' protein might help. We have our own chickens fed non-gmo grain and feed. I eat 3 large or 4 small ones a day for protein and usually 4-6 oz beef, pork, fish, or poultry. I totally respect your decision to be vegetarian, there are many levels and I do not know what level you are, but please do some research about it on those web sites I mentioned. I very well could be lack of protein is contributing to your pain. There are protein supplements but I have no experience with them. If you choose to try any please be sure they are natural and not from genetically modified sources such as soy. Rick

In addition I take Organic India Tumeric Formula which is curcumin 4 MG Natural Astaxanthin for improvement overall stamina and endurance, reduce your joint and muscle soreness caused by vigorous exercise & help protect skin from overexposure due to sun-induced free radicals One key area astaxanthin has a positive effect is on your mitochondria. Mitochondria are little intracellular powerhouses within your body. They produce up to 95% of your bodyās energy. So, it should not be surprising mitochondria are found in your muscle tissue. The bottom lineā¦ you can end up with tired and sore muscles. And thatās where astaxanthin comes in. As a powerful antioxidant, astaxanthin has been shown to effectively scavenge free radicals from muscle tissue and help reduce singlet oxygen (particular type of ābadā oxidation). 1,000 mg Spirulina - Healthy for Vegetarians -- More Protein than Red Meat If youāre a vegetarian, you may turn to plant-protein sources such as nuts, beans, lentils and soy products. Unfortunately, soy is not the health food it claims to be. None of the above-mentioned sources of protein compare to the protein punch delivered by spirulina. Spirulina is 65-71 percent complete protein compared to beef, which is only 22 percent, and lentils, which is only 26 percent. In addition to being protein-rich, spirulina is an excellent source of vital amino acids and minerals easily assimilated by your body. Sorry I forgot that spriulina was a protein until I looked it up for this message. NOW Amino complete: Amino acids are needed to build the various proteins used in the growth, repair, and maintenance of body tissues.
