Guest guest
Hi, I had my son's tonisls removed when he was 7, and after that we barely used antibiotics for any sort of infections. He had been on antibiotics for 6 yrs plus....basically from the time I stopped breastfeeding/more vaccines administered. However, I've since read that the tonsils are part of the brain's way of detoxing...it is path of the pathway and somehow I now figure removing them would actual stop that pathway ??? Their inflammation is the symptom of problems in detoxing....so we go round in circles. Dr K is sooo smart, I am not dismissing his comments at all, I know for my son his life became better in one area. I have often read of the use of homeopathics for tonsil problems, so you could google that too. Good luck in making your decisions. na > > Hello, > > I'm new to the group, but we have been seeing Dr.Klinghardt for a year now... Guest guest
Hi there, I totally understand how you feel – my son is also 6 years old and exactly 1 year ago we were in the same situation - after our appointment with Dr. K he said that my son's tonsils are constant source of bacteria/viruses and without removing them recovery will be very difficult to almost impossible. It took us 4-5 months for me and my husband to do our additional research, talking with other parents, doing tests, to finally decide to do tonsillectomy. I wish I was prepared for the worsening of symptoms after the surgery. Of course with this I don't want to scare you, this is not always the case (actually for so much worsening of symptoms I have never heard from any other parent, although there might be others). Prior to the surgery my son's OCD symptoms were pretty bad, but after that he became so obsessive with things being on their certain place or not changing anything around, that we were scared to move anything in the house and despite that he was tantruming and screaming most of the time. For instance if I move a cup/plate or anything in the kitchen to wash it, my son would start screaming and because he is non-verbal we didn't know always what we did wrong, so things were not easy. I was calling and requesting phone consult almost every 2 weeks, because I was so desperate what to do and every time I was reassured from Dr. D (she is Dr. K's assistant and we always do phone consults with her between appointments with Dr. K) that this is normal reaction and because the strep bacteria from the tonsils was released into the bloodstream during the surgery, it will take a while for the body to clear up. By the way I want to mention that we requested biopsy of the tonsils after they removed them, just for our own peace of mind that we did the right thing. I was very relieved that indeed the lab found that his tonsils and adenoid were full with all kinds of bacteria/viruses – known and unknown (I know it sounds strange that we liked these news, but it would be really bad if we removed his tonsils and if they found nothing), so Dr. K's theory was obviously true. But because things were so bad with his OCD I started looking for additional things that may help and this lead me to try classical homeopathy. I cannot tell for sure if classical homeopathy by itself helped (although I truly believe that it plays big role, because we are seeing some other improvements as well) or because we are 7 months after surgery and bacteria is finally cleared, but here is big huge relief of OCD symptoms. I don't want even to think how bad were things in the past, because now I have again my happy, caring, patient boy. We have not seen any improvements in speech unfortunately (although Dr. K said the infected tonsils were blocking his speech as well, so we are hoping to see something there also), neither improvements in fine motor skills (my son cannot draw or write yet). If you decide to do the surgery it is very important to choose the right anesthesia. We were advised to use only Versed and Sevoflurane and my son indeed didn't have any side effects from these anesthesia. We were advised also to do more often the MB12 injections and homeopathic support (probably you got already these instructions). Wish you good luck in your decision and if you have any other questions I can try to answer. Krassi > > Hello, > > I'm new to the group, but we have been seeing Dr.Klinghardt for a year now... Guest guest
My son had his taken out 9 months ago. It took a while to see the good because he had some other issues crop up last fall. It does take 4-9 months to see the bigger changes. And also if I had to pick a time of year to take tonsils out, I would do it in spring and summer, not winter. Its just harder on kids to get well in the winter. But I have noticed a difference in lessing of OCD, and just calmer, and less frustration. I did continue antibx post surg. and did a lot of herbs, homeopathic remedies to keep clearing out the infections, viruses. And he did have one strep infection this year, I was kind of shocked but it cleared up, after antibx's and so far so good as far as tonsils being removed. I do think you need to get their thyroid tested a month or two post surge. Just to make sure all is working well, since its all near the throat you don't want the thyroid gland to be harmed. Guest guest
A few years ago the Moderator of a biomedical group suggested to me that before going for a procedure recommended by a doctor I should ask him/her the following questions: 1- How many kids have recovered after following his treatments 2- How many kids didn't have any mayor changes in their symptoms 3- Ask him/her if it would be possible to talk to the parents of the kids who had the treatments he suggested. I took her recommendations into account and have been implementing them not just with doctors but with other professionals we see. Guest guest
Hello Krassi, You mentioned that you haven't seen any changes in Speech, Since your had surgery year ago...But as per Dr.K that's intention to do this surgery for my son.. My son is verbal and asks what ever he wants that's it, but can't give complex reply and unable to pronounce words properly. I think that my son tonsils also infected, but if we donot see gains we expect to see, what's point though ? Any parent who went thru tonillectomy, please give me your advise/input after surgery about the gains & things etc...Specially in Speech ? Thank you. > > > > Hello, > > > > I'm new to the group, but we have been seeing Dr.Klinghardt for a year now... When we see Dr.Klinghardt, he asked to remove the tonsils for my 6yrs old son. Guest guest
I wanted to just mention that it can take up to 9 months to see the full effects of improvements, if your using binders to also move out the toxins. You may need to look at mold as an issue as well if you have not. And lastly the GcMAF could also be something to consider testing for if you have not done already. My son is on the homeopathic for this, and its been too soon to say a lot but its been interesting slight changes. So just want to give you something to hope for. Guest guest
Hello Allie, When did you son had the surgery..Since then did you see any changes in terms of Speech or Functional awareness or Social. We have been using Binders for almost 7-8 months. Dr.K's assistant mentioned about this, but Dr.K really pushed to me to process with it.. Guest guest
You may want a ENT to do a Marcons deep nasal culture on your son, as well. The tonsils for sure can hold strep, which then affects the brain since they sit just under the brain. I wished I had known about this issue, dealt with OCD, and strep for years trying to use various treatments to name a few; Homeopathic for years, then antibx's, IVIG, and Herbs- Amy Yasko protocol, to no avail I was tired of having my son so sick. And its suspected that the co infections are also living in the tonsils too. Its such a mult. level process and there is a treatment in Germany that you can have done called Cryo therapy, which the tonsils are NOT removed. It usually takes 1 -3 treatments and they have to be done a month apart. So just know that treatment is available too. We just could not hang out in Germany for many months or afford to go back and forth for these treatments. The treatment themselves are not expensive. Here is that information for Germany for anyone interested. www.kryopraxis.de Also it maybe helpful post tonsils removal to use some homeopathic's Pseu and Strep Also I did not know this post surge for my son, but it would be helpful to use Methyl B-12 nasal spray, can have a good affect on increased speech, visual and audiotory processing problems, fatigue sensitivity to chemicals, autoimmune problems. (I have even seen Methyl B 12 patches placed behind the ears, available online but never have used them, so no idea on how effective they are). Parasites need to be treated. You may also need to use Zithromax once a week, and sporonox plus valtrex Each child is different, and their ecology body make up is different from one child to the next. I would suggest if you are not seeing results to continue to clear out viruses,*inflammation, mold issues, EMF and look at dietary changes as well. Guest guest
My own personal experience with my seriously swollen tonsils that would not quit for about 3 years is that after treating every infection in the book they finally went down. My former LLMD advised me not to have them removed. He felt that they were the filter saving the rest of my body from having these infections dumped upon them. Yes I had strep and babesia, borrelia and bartonella and I just treated them constantly for years. However, seemingly, treating parasites finally brought my pathogen load down and the swelling went with it. I used a parade of alinia, ivermectin, pyrantel pamoate, albenza, mebendazole, tindamax. And, I went right back to my augmentin, rifampin and flagyl and I no longer the owner of enlarged tonsils and swollen glands. Guest guest
I want to mention here that if you think your child might be willing to stay still for 18-20 seconds the best option might be doing the Cryotherapy in Germany. Dr. Sergei Dorochov is the only one in the world who does freezing of the tonsils, so this way you don't have to remove them and it is as effective. Prior to my son's tonsillectomy we were considering doing this and I talked with Dr. Dorochov over the phone, he said they do local anesthesia and all your child needs to do is to stay still with open mouth for approximately 20 seconds. However, my son would not do that unfortunately, he has severe anxieties in doctor's offices (he is extremely scared and anxious even when Dr. K does the ART testing which is not invasive at all), so that's what stopped us going this way (I was hoping they may do general anesthesia for my son, but he said they do only local), but for older kids who are more willing to cooperate this might be the best solution. Dr. Dorochov said it takes usually 3-4 treatments maximum to get rid completely of the strep and you have to do them minimum 1 month apart (could be longer). The procedure by itself is not expensive - I think around $300, what makes it expensive is the flying to Germany. Here is his web site: http://www.kryopraxis.de/ and here is some more info: http://www.devdelay.org/newsletter/articles/pdf/388-much-maligned-tonsils.pdf > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hello, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I'm new to the group, but we have been seeing Dr.Klinghardt for a year now...
