Guest guest
Agreed.. if that is what it states go NOW.About 3 years ago I had an AMAZING job at a huge hospital. I was in sales and did really well, people were very impressed with me as I received award after award. One night I fell and started to have pain issues. The pain escalated to a point where the hospital I worked for started treating me. They gave me morphine and dilaudid in crazy doses, one time I actually had the whole room spin and I passed out on my couch. I was out for about a week getting tested. No one came up with anything.Anyways, I was VERY doped up, one neurologist I found freaked out when he saw my meds (50mg morphine x3, 12mg dilaudid x every 2-3 hours), they started treating me with nerve blocks and getting me off all the medication to a reasonable dose. The neurologist and new pain doc called over to the hospital to get an idea of what was going on, I went to HR telling them I need a few weeks off for medical reasons and to get off medication. I was let go a week later, and they let it slip verbally that it had something to do with my illness, however nothing was in writing. I lost my job, A+ credit, apartment...and medical care.To anyone in this situation, document everything, DON " T go to HR, take " proper " time off, don't tell people about your illness. If you feel like there is something fishy going on consult an attorney... I am NOT the only person this happened to, at the same company my friend was let go a year later for getting a divorce and being broken up about it, and other cases just like that all over the pain/illness boards... I am in a similar situation here, but the company is so small we have no HR, no short term disability.. no protection. If you have it take advantage of it and keep your personal life to yourself. It's hard to accept but people are not your friends at work. > > > > I was recently discharged via email due to my medical condition.
