Guest guest
Hi, I've just read a booked called 'Feeding Your Demons' by Tsultrim Allione. I've been having a tinker with the process and find it quite useful. I thought others here might find it of interest. Here's an extract from the book - 'The process of feeding our demons is a method for bringing our shadow into consciousness and accessing the treasures it holds rather than rpressing it. If the shadow is not made conscious and intergrated, it operates undercover, becoming the saboteur of our best intentions as well as causing harm to others. Bringing the shadow to awareness reduces its destructive powers and releases the life energy stored in it. By befriending that which scares us most, we find our own wisdom'. From an ACT standpoint I suppose its like inviting the aunt in to the party with open arms, sitting down with her and having a chat - then asking her what she wants. It's interesting stuff - Buddhist of course-forwarded by Jack Kornfield. But I'm finding it quite intriguing and plan to work more with it some more. I think its ACT consistant - but I may be wrong!
