Guest guest
I agree... I am on a few LOL My purse is a pharmacy now... Sorry to hear you are not feeling well Hope it gets better as your body adjusts to the meds Subject: Jodi - Savella To: tetheredspinalcord Date: Monday, August 29, 2011, 3:03 PM  , >Did you get any answers regarding the Savella? I didn't ask because I read that Savella interferes with Coumadin. Constantly having blood tests and dosage changes is irritating, so I'm looking for something that doesn't mess with Coumadin. >I checked with my pharmasist because the meds they put me on for the narcolepsy had some kind of issue with Savella (so I thought). But I guess it's an SNRI? Not sure if that makes a difference in your case. I don't know if it's an SNRI. I've never heard of the term. lol! >Hope you are doing well I am today. I started the Butrans (pain) patch last week and, yesterday, I woke up with a migraine. I'm sure it's related. I'm going back to the Oxcarbazepine for now. It helps the tiniest bit but at least I don't have any major side effects. I wish my Dr. would consider combining meds. I don't think just one in particular is the answer. Guest guest
All i can say is try it , then decide to go on. I am now on 3 times a day Carbamazepine 200, lyrica 75 and tramadol 50 mg. All low dose now. And not sleepy anymore only dificulties to stand up in the morning but i changed this dose three day's ago and feel better every hour and les pain in my legs. And thats what i want. Lower the pain and by happy again. Jan Willem -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- From: J.J. My Dr. is very conservative and, while I understand his motivation, it irritates me that he won't consider adding a 2nd med. Heck, he won't even increase what I'm on now! I've taken the same dose from the beginning and it WAS working, but our systems get used to them and an increase is sometimes necessary. Jodi >I agree... Guest guest
Jan, Thanks for the explanation. It would be nice if the doctor explained why he wants me to take what he prescribes...AND the side effects that go along with it. >Jodi, The carbamazepine is only to reduce the shocks that you get when nerves give bad signals. And it seems it works fine with by me in combination with lyrica but it did his job too with neurotin I know if people do have elliptical problems ore dizziness walking upstairs the reaction on that is much stronger. Therefor you need to dose exactly the same everyday. >OxcarbazepineIncentives in the brains can cause seizures. Oxcarbazepine affects these incentives and thus helps certain epileptic seizures. It is used when there is a risk on to much sideeffects. But the working is the same for us as carbazepine. Just slow down the shocks thats why we take it. So it is not a bad choice of your dockter. We are not epileptic so it will not make that risk bigger cause the working on that has no effect on us. >Hope i explain it wel. , I'm not doing as well as I'd like. Saw the doctor last week and he's keeping me on the Oxycarbazepine and added 50mg of Lyrica (which worked well but I had bladder problems at a higher dose). He wants me to get up to 100mg and see what happens. The problem is, the Oxycarb isn't as effective now that I've been on it for several months. A nurse friend of mine (with 30+ years experience) suggested that it's not meant for long-term use, which seems to be the case. I'm not in as much pain as I would be if I wasn't taking anything but it's still not great. Grr! >So happy to hear you are doing better!!!
