Guest guest
hi e, Good on you for looking things up, checking your facts, and providing that relief for Sam. Great he could have the sinoplasty w/out all the packing (no, it's not much fun!). But continual sinus infx is one of the most common (er - I think, from reading, others' experience etc...) causes of continued chest infx either causing or continuing the cycle of bronchiectasis exacerbations. He's maybe a bit young to get used to using nasal rinse / sinus flush (in US, Peti Pot?) but it has kept me free from re-infxn again. (I do recall others on this site finding it beneficial - but yeah, it's messy, a pain - some nights I feel a bit fed up with all the stuff to do...). Such a great thing you did for Sam - I nursed in my 20s and saw the anguish parents go through when their children have to undergo surgery, even minor surgery such as grommets... I can't begin to think what it must have been like for my own Mum (she would never talk about it, and is now too elderly.) thx on behalf of Sammy joy
