Guest guest
hi Suzanne, those small skin bleeds (petechia) started happening to me quite a lot after having a pic line - maybe because of the monthly heparin flushes. They'd about stopped having not had IV abx since May last year, but have started again due to have the portacath heparinised flushes which on IV Timentin again. Do your med staff refer to it as chemo? I've come across journals, and because I had to had to go to oncology all the staff referred to the Timentin as chemo ---- just curious. The 5 hr bleed I referred to was from my lungs, not just flecks & specks either, I described it as " thick tomato juice or soup - I hope it isn't your favourite! " and generally got a chuckle, and fortunately a 'no' answer. It did slow down after about 2 and half hours but didn't stop til after midnight, so spent another night half sitting to sleep... Apparently can be caused from severe coughing (had since the beginning of the flooding, first wk of March) which can burst a small blood vessel, feels scary but apparently not serious. It did give me a scare as the only time I've had that much of a bleed was due to a particularly cheers, joy
