Guest guest
hi Ann, no, but they are Latin. I'm more or less used to them cos did nursing training in my 20s, and have studied some Botany which uses old Greek as well as Latin. eg: #1 - named after someone. It's original name Chryseo relates to its colour possible (chryso - yellow, gold), then meninges, and septic. #2 - chromo = colour of the bacterium when stained to ID, turn violet. #3 - related to Psa-monas, the rest - don't know!! Hear the Latin lesson endeth, hope you enjoyed! cheers, joy
